Black or mixed Black heritage students are still under-represented in the geospatial industry and the ‘knowledge access level’ to enter the industry tends to be a higher education degree.
In an attempt to encourage Black or mixed-Black heritage students, @esriuk has partnered with @AkamaFund, a charity dedicated to supporting students and facilitating accessible scholarships, to create a new scholarship program for them.
Designed to support 60 higher education students, in disciplines related to the geospatial industry, the Geospatial Student Accelerator scheme will make awards totaling £30,000 in the first year.
