Dubai is accelerating its transition towards a cashless economy, with digital payments reaching 90.1% of transactions and surpassing the emirate’s 2026 target ahead of schedule.
Launched in October 2024, the strategy aims to make payments across government and private sectors increasingly digital, using banking apps, cards, contactless technology and AI powered solutions.
Changes include reduced cash payments at parking meters, plans to introduce account based digital ticketing for nol transport payments in 2027, and new banking options for tourists.
Cash is not disappearing overnight, but residents and visitors can expect digital payments to play an increasingly central role in daily life.
UAE Presidential Diplomatic Adviser Dr Anwar Gargash has called for stronger joint Gulf security and defence cooperation amid repeated attacks on Saudi Arabia.
Warning that “our security is indivisible,” Gargash said targeting the Kingdom threatens the safety of the UAE and all Gulf states. He urged Gulf nations to revitalise collective security arrangements, saying serious gaps had encouraged further aggression.
The comments follow deadly attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on October 10 and 11, which reportedly killed 14 people and injured hundreds. The strikes have also disrupted airport operations, with hundreds of scheduled departures cancelled or marked as no-fly.

🇦🇪🤝🇸🇦 UAE & KSA - One Destiny, One Future
A powerful moment from the 2nd Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council - where H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi (now President of the UAE) welcomed his brother H.R.H. Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.
In his opening address, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed beautifully quoted our Founding Father, Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan:
"The UAE is with Saudi Arabia, heart and soul. We believe destiny is one. We must stand as one man and support each other."
This council is a model platform to achieve the vision of both leaderships - to deepen cooperation and strengthen integration between our two brotherly nations in all fields, serving the interests of our peoples and deepening the bonds of brotherhood.
H.R.H. Prince Mohammed bin Salman conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and expressed his happiness to be in his second home, the UAE.
From Sheikh Zayed and King Faisal to MBZ and MBS - the bond remains unbreakable. Two nations, two visions (UAE Centennial 2071 & Vision 2030), one shared Gulf future.

It was my dream to visit Hazrat Maryams house in Izmir, Turkey. She is the only woman who has a surah named after her in the Quran, and as the Aakhir uz zaman comes near and Hazrat Issas second coming comes closer, I feel like all women need to study the life of Hazrat Maryam. I absolutely love her ... what a blessing it is that I got to visit the place she called her home 🥹🥹❤️❤️

The reason the UAE is safe is simple…
We invest in knowledge, technology, the people, and the actual country.
What the UAE doesn’t do is invest in terrorists, create scouting hubs for radicalization, and tolerate racism.
