@LaMoreScience@LeoneClark R2Q9 - Pre-assessment is so important! It takes being prepared & ready ahead of time to a new level, but, again, worth the investment so that students who already master the skill can elevate, you can see who might be almost there, and who may need a lot of support! #Q4PLCTalk23
@NikkiScimeca@LeoneClark R1Q9 - If it is something that can transfer from Math to Reading (especially tiered framework), please share! I love that you plan to do this to support teachers! #Q4PLCTalk23
@4mobleykids@LeoneClark R2Q8 - AI is so new in teaching that I often forget about it, but have been getting better about utilizing it as a tool. I agree with you that it is a disruptive tool because it is really changing things (for the better!) #Q4PLCTalk23
@KathyMartin95@LeoneClark R1Q8 - Agree 100%! I wish we could get NearPod back for our kiddos - the real time feedback was so useful and it really helped to add the "T" to our STEAM lessons. #Q4PLCTalk23
@A13632Angel@LeoneClark R2Q7 - Yes! Often times we are so busy and have so much to do, but kids NEED SSR time. I love that this has been successful for you, after establishing expectations and guidelines of course! #Q4PLCTalk23
@ChristineDRink@LeoneClark R1Q7: I really appreciate you highlighting this because I didn't catch it when I read. It is definitely important to remember that brains process images faster than text, so this can really help offer an extra layer to kids struggling with text. #Q4PLCTalk23
@JennaMcclung@LeoneClark Agreed! When you stop and think it makes so much sense - and we need them as adults! I am not sure why we sometimes forget kids are so similar to us :-)
@LeoneClark A8: Book Creator is "disruptive" in my opinion because it lets kids show their learning in a more effective way, changing from summaries or paragraphs into comic strips, "books", etc. which not only elevates their learning but increases engagement tremendously. #Q4PLCTalk23

@MaciasMela15964@LeoneClark R2Q4 - This is so true! I bet it also gives you more patience with those students who are always asking why. They are the thinkers and often get shut down because they ask so many questions, but we really need to encourage that, not shut it down! #Q4PLCTalk23
@JennaMcclung@LeoneClark R1Q4-The PLC process really helps with this. We can be nervous if we are unsuccessful, but being able to share kids with colleagues who are stronger in an area than we may be is SO powerful. We don't expect students to know everything, so why do we think we should? #Q4PLCTalk23
@Teaching_IsLife@LeoneClark I absolutely agree! When I was on the west coast, in elementary, with one group of 25-30 kids all day, it was challenging. Now that I have 100 students, even in 5th grade, being departmentalized, I realize how much more difficult it is and how easy I had it then! #Q4PLCTalk23
@ZertucheRo0215@LeoneClark R2 Q5 - Choice boards are so great! Do you have a resource of these, do you create your own, or do you have a website that helps you create them? I know there are a lot of resources out there, so just curious! #Q4PLCTalk23
@KathyMartin95@LeoneClark R1Q5 - I really like the idea of allowing students to choose their text. How do you monitor their learning over a variety of text? This has always been the trickiest part for me! #Q4PLCTalk23
@NikkiScimeca@LeoneClark R2(CH1) I agree and like that you acknowledge that it will be uncomfortable. Sometimes we get told that it will be an easy modification without being upfront about the discomfort. We can all grow but sometimes admitting that is tricky for some.
