The Feminist Action Network on Predatory Lending (FANPEL) provided much needed Mental Health and Psychosocial Support for loanees and guarantors of Girls First Finance/Kenya who are facing aggressive collection practices and numerous lawsuits arising from toxic debts.

Feminist Action Network on Predatory Lending (FANPEL) held a Legal Awareness and Legal Aid Clinic for loanees and guarantors facing litigation by New York based predatory mobile lender Girls First Finance (GFF). GFF is suing over 700 girls, many from Kisumu informal settlements

FANPEL also held one one sessions as part of the clinic.

The Dagoretti Small Claims Court has referred the student loan cases by mobile lender Girls First Kenya @GirlsFirstFin against young indigent women students in Kisumu to the Kibra High Court for directions citing public interest, jurisdiction and the complexity of the cases.

Obstetric violence has been normalised for too long. Many African women don’t know their rights, so abuse during childbirth goes unchallenged.

Josephine's case is an important turning point, as the Kenya Court of Appeal upheld the landmark judgement which asserted that healthcare systems are accountable for ensuring dignified, respectful care for all pregnant individuals.
