The first step in professional trading is finding a position size whose potential loss you can accept without your brain registering it as a threat. At that size, fear stops making your decisions.
Then execute your edge consistently across a large enough sample (at least 50–100 trades) before you judge it.
Manageable risk. Consistent execution. Probabilistic thinking.
“In the race to chase more, we often forget the value of enough.
In trading, this lesson is especially important. The urge to make a little more can cost us what we have already earned.
Knowing when to stop is as important as knowing when to trade.”
Most traders don’t lose because they lack knowledge. They lose because, under the pain and stress of live markets, the rational prefrontal cortex loses control and the emotional “Monkey Mind” takes over.
Fear. Greed. Hope. Revenge. Impulse.
Professional trading is the art of keeping decisions rule-based when emotions are at their strongest.
Don’t trade your emotions. Trade your system.

Earlier SEBI slowed down Stockbroking business.
Now IRDAI did the same for insurance business.
Policybazaar fell 30% in one day.
Its biggest single day fall ever.
No bad results. No fraud.
Just one draft paper from IRDAI.
Policybazaar doesn't make insurance. It sells insurance and earns commission. IRDAI now wants to cap that commission hard.
As per IRDAI, From FY23 to FY25, payouts to sellers grew 125 percent. The new business premium they brought in? Only 28 percent.
The business didn't grow at that speed. But commissions grew almost five times faster. And whose pocket does that extra money come from? Ours. It comes out of our premium.
From the regulator's side, this is a pro customer move. Lower commissions can mean lower premiums and less mis selling.
In health insurance, some sellers earn up to 40 percent commission today. On a ₹10,000 premium, ₹4,000 goes to the seller. The draft caps it at 15 percent for a new policy and 5 percent on renewals.
Car insurance, own damage cover: from 16 percent down to 5. Third party cover on new vehicles: zero commission.
The biggest shock is credit life, the insurance sold along with a loan. Today it pays around 28 percent. The proposed cap is just 2 percent.
Ever tried checking an insurance price online? First it asks your name. Then your phone number. Only then do you see the price. The moment you share your number, the calls start and the selling begins. IRDAI now calls this a "dark pattern." Prices must be shown first, without grabbing your number. - I personally feel this is the best move from IRDAI.
No more forced combos with loans. Take a home loan, get insurance. Take a car loan, get insurance. It was sold like a combo meal, often without a real choice. The draft bans compulsory bundling.
Most exposed: PB Fintech and Turtlemint. Almost all their revenue is commission. Health and motor are their biggest categories, and that's where the cuts are deepest. That's why the share price of these companies took a beating today. There is no stop loss for regulatory risk. One circular, one paper, and the stock gaps down overnight.
I need honest feedback from everyone who has read the content I shared.
My book on trading psychology connects market behaviour with medicine, biology, brain function and neurochemistry. It explains every concept in depth and is nearly 1,000 pages but its printing cost will be high.
Would you genuinely read and purchase such a detailed book?

Everybody complaining about CAS
There is one solution, shut your Option book at 3:15 pm
0DTE shift to 1DTE or CASDTE
None of these Trades in spaces are talking about STT hike by 5 times which has killed Futures segment, which is even worse than CAS
It has killed Futures segment volume and shifted it all to MTF or Options
And now Options segment also at risk
This whole Trader community only wakes up now because everyone is doing Options
When Futures segment was being destroyed, why nobody was talking about it? Everyone adapted and shifted to Options and Synthetic Futures
Now everyone will shift to MTF and become Investor because of CAS
This is SEBI Masterstroke to put a nail in the coffin of India's Derivatives market, and that is the only thing that can wake up the regulator.... Especially when their Tax revenue via Transaction charges drops significantly as Volumes and Participants shrink
Landmark Moment for Indian Capital Markets: The Closing Auction Session (CAS) is Live!
Today marks a major milestone in the evolution of India’s stock markets with the official rollout of the Closing Auction Session (CAS). Designed to bring enhanced transparency, efficiency, and international best practices to our market ecosystem, CAS ushers in a new era for discovery of closing prices. Investors and market participants can now execute trades directly at the closing price in a structured, transparent mechanism, aligning India even more closely with global financial standards.
For asset managers, institutional investors, and passive funds (such as ETFs and index funds), this launch is a game-changer. By enabling execution at the official closing price, CAS makes nil tracking error a practical reality. Beyond index tracking, the session provides unmatched accuracy for end-of-day valuations, portfolio benchmarking, and risk management—benefiting the entire spectrum of investors who rely on precise, manipulation-resistant closing prices.
On the opening day today ie Aug 03, 2026, NSE Turnover was ₹1,276.2 crore while BSE saw turnover of ₹10.8 crore.
This achievement would not have been possible without the progressive vision of our regulatory ecosystem. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to SEBI for their openness to adopting global best practices, their unwavering support throughout the conceptualization process, and their guidance in bringing this initiative to life. Together, we continue to build a more robust, transparent, and world-class market for all.
