@Tom_Suozzi Representative,
People need action on this matter, and we need to see results above all things. We appreciate the commitment, and advocacy, but we must see a solid plan, and solution that can pass in a bipartisan way. Dreamers, with the Dream Act is a solid bipartisan start.
@StephenM these people are not criminals! They have been here paying taxes and you want to tear families apart! The program only grants them to adjust status here instead of having to leave. Why do you have to take this away? Please stop this and let them continue
DON’T GET TOO EXCITED.
This is a 14-day temporary restraining order simply to maintain the status quo until a hearing for a preliminary injunction can be held. At that hearing, evidence will have to be presented and that evidence will have to satisfy certain legal standards or the TRO will dissolve.
Get back to us with you’ve actually accomplished something.
Speaking of which, your numbers are off by almost 100%. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service description of the “parole in place” program is as follows:
IF granted parole, AND IF otherwise eligible, these noncitizens may APPLY for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident without being required to leave the United States and be processed by a U.S. consulate overseas. DHS estimates that 500,000 noncitizen SPOUSES OF U.S. CITIZENS could be eligible to access Keeping Families Together; ON AVERAGE, these noncitizens have RESIDED IN THE U.S. FOR 23 YEARS. In addition, approximately 50,000 noncitizen stepchildren of U.S. citizens are estimated to be eligible to seek parole under Keeping Families Together.
So congratulations, Stevo. Like the border policy of convicted felon Trump, your lawsuit is aimed at tearing families apart. But your litigation is especially odious because it seeks to deny lawful resident status to people who have lived and paid taxes here for almost a quarter of a century.
Untruth lies at the heart of every MAGA accusation.
@USCIS please start reviewing the parole in place where people need biometrics. It’s seems the only ones in review is with a 601a pending or they have Daca.
@USCIS when will you guys start reviewing the applications for PIP for those who need biometrics? When will you send appointment out to have them done? Please hurry!!!
