In 1961, Al Pacino, then 20 years old, was apprehended for attempted robbery charges.

On January 7th, 1961, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, police officers stopped a vehicle acting suspiciously, circling the block several times.

Upon inspection, they found three men inside, all wearing black masks and gloves. A loaded .38 caliber pistol was discovered in the car's trunk.

The driver, Vincent J. Calcagni, along with passengers Bruce Cohen and the young Alfredo Pacino from New York City, were charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

Unable to post the $2,000 bail, they were jailed, with Pacino spending three days behind bars. Notably, the arresting officer recalled Pacino being notably cooperative during questioning.

Pacino explained that the men were actors heading to a job, requiring the gun as a prop. This revelation eventually led to the charges being dropped.
