Alternative sources of sustainable energy continue to power India’s green energy transition. As we now blend nearly 16.9% ethanol and are on way to meet E20 target and beyond, the quest for newer sources of ethanol continues. Seaweed is one such innovative source. Farming about 7.5% of India’s exclusive economic zone could produce enough feedstock to replace 300 million tons of crude oil equivalent.
Happy to note that by bringing in mechanization into Tropical seaweed farming, Sea6Energy is able to farm large areas of the Ocean by improving the productivity per person and enabling farming in deeper waters. Efforts such as these when scaled up will provide momentum to our energy journey under the leadership of PM @narendramodi Ji.
