More than 270 candidates have been trained at the IIGJ under the PM Vishwakarma scheme.

ಐಐಜಿಜೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದುವರೆಗೆ 270ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪಿಎಂ ವಿಶ್ವಕರ್ಮ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿ ತರಬೇತಿ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Smt @nsitharaman witnessed the signing of an MoU between the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery and IIT Madras under the InCent LGD platform for a specialised, industry-oriented certification programme in lab-grown diamond technologies.

The programme will help bridge critical skill gaps, create job-ready professionals, boost value-added manufacturing and strengthen India’s position in the global LGD (lab-grown diamond) value chain, aligned with Make in India, Skill India and the goal of a self-reliant, globally competitive LGD ecosystem.

The ₹242 crore grant announced in the Union Budget 2023–24 for lab-grown diamond research at IIT Madras is helping build a world-class ecosystem. Under the InCent initiative, India’s first indigenously designed scaled prototype of a High Pressure High Temperature LGD machine has been developed and installed at IIT Madras, while imported commercial HPHT machines have also been installed for benchmarking.

ಈ ತರಬೇತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಕೌಶಲ್ಯದ ಕೊರತೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಗಿಸಲು, ಉದ್ಯೋಗಕ್ಕೆ ಸನ್ನದ್ಧರಾದ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರರನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಮೌಲ್ಯವರ್ಧಿತ ಉತ್ಪಾದನೆಯನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸಲು ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಇದು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಎಲ್ಜಿಡಿ ಮೌಲ್ಯ ಸರಪಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತದ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವುದಲ್ಲದೆ, 'ಮೇಕ್ ಇನ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ', 'ಸ್ಕಿಲ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ' ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ವಾವಲಂಬಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜಾಗತಿಕವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಾತ್ಮಕವಾದ ಎಲ್ಜಿಡಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವ ಗುರಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.

2023-24ರ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಬಜೆಟ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಐಐಟಿ ಮದ್ರಾಸ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಜಿಡಿ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗಾಗಿ ಘೋಷಿಸಲಾದ ₹242 ಕೋಟಿ ಅನುದಾನವು ವಿಶ್ವದರ್ಜೆಯ ಪರಿಸರ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲು ನೆರವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ ಉಪಕ್ರಮದ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಭಾರತದ ಮೊದಲ ಸ್ವದೇಶಿ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸದ 'ಹೈ ಪ್ರೆಶರ್ ಹೈ ಟೆಂಪರೇಚರ್' (HPHT) ಎಲ್ಜಿಡಿ ಯಂತ್ರದ ಮಾದರಿಯನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಿ, ಐಐಟಿ ಮದ್ರಾಸ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಮಾನದಂಡಗಳನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲು, ಆಮದು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾದ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಬಳಕೆಯ ಯಂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಹ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

2000 years ago, this coastline was the commercial nerve of the globe. The wealth of this region was so legendary that Greek and Roman merchants would risk their lives to reach these shores faster.

The Chennakeshava Temple at Belur, the Hoysaleshwara at Halebidu - if you have ever stood before those temples and watched the afternoon sun play upon their intricately carved surfaces, you will understand what I mean when I say that India has always been a civilisation of superlatives.

And then came the glory of the Vijayanagara Empire, perhaps the greatest empire of the medieval age, whose capital Hampi was described by Domingo Paes, the Portuguese traveller, as a city “as large as Rome and a very beautiful sight to behold.”
