Indonesia's Child Protection Law emphasizes that every child has the right to be protected from exploitation, violence, discrimination, and any activity that may jeopardize their best interests. Involving elementary school children in public rallies, asking them to carry campaign-style signs or chant political slogans raises serious concerns about whether their rights are being respected.

Children can’t meaningfully consent to political participation. Schools should remain safe spaces for learning—not places where students are mobilized to endorse government policies.

We urge independent monitoring to ensure that children's rights are fully protected and that no child is used as a tool for political messaging.

Al Jazeera Arabic has published a new short report including exclusive interviews with former members of collaborator militias who operated in areas controlled by the occupation east of the "Yellow Line" in Gaza. Using photos and testimonies obtained from a source within the Ministry of the Interior in Gaza, correspondent Suhaib al-ʿAsa analyzes the nature of these groups’ operations, as well as their recruitment mechanisms and coordination with the occupation army.

According to the report, a number of people who joined these groups initially believed they were responding to recruitment ads offering job opportunities or humanitarian aid, only to later discover the true nature of the endeavor. The report quotes a former member as saying that within a few days of joining, he felt as if he were “inside a prison,” stressing that the promises he had initially received quickly proved to be fabrications.
According to the testimonies, these militias carry out field missions inside the Gaza Strip, with some of their members receiving training in Hebrew to facilitate communication during operations.

Israel is defying the EU on different fronts in response to HR Kallas labeling Israel's actions against Palestinians as “apartheid”.

We can clearly observe state-led actions on the part of Israel, which somewhat resemble those ofgeopolitical rivals of the EU like Russia, which legitimize separatist movements or regional challengers of the EU's soft power agenda. A clear example is Georgia, where the government speaks frequently of a "diktat" vis-à-vis the EU.

- Meetings with pro-separatist leaders among EU candidate states (Republika Srpska);

- Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, which comes in contradiction with the EU’s efforts to stabilize the Horn of Africa;

- Its military cooperation with Greece and Cyprus, perfectly aligned with these Brussels member-states, makes Israel an important player in changing the balance of power vis-à-vis Turkey, pressing on the irritants surrounding the Cyprus issue;

- Netanyahu openly supported Viktor Orban’s political party in the recent elections, alongside Trump and Russian officials.

- At the discursive level, Israeli MFA Gideon Sa’ar uses narratives about the EU imposing its position one-sidedly.

The EU is facing a more hostile external environment, and Israel is not likely to stop here in acting where it hurts the EU most.
