As per the @Global_Witness Report, around 281 defenders have been killed in the Philippines since 2012. GW reported that a third of the killings were associated with defenders who opposed mining operations.

QUEZON CITY– In an effort to proactively maximize the streets of NIA Road, the @AksyonVerde installed a vertical urban garden dubbed ‘NIA Rd. Community Garden’ to address the concern on food security, hunger, and adaption to rising agri-commodities due to inflation.

Meanwhile, Mary Jane Hulleza, president of UNNA, and staff from Joy of Urban Farming said that "harvested vegetables will be shared with the community and some of these harvests are planned to be sold in the market. We can now eat fresh vegetables and earn at the same time."

Volunteers will mass up in front of the National Electrification Administration, NIA Rd.
