E press am, gear enter one, steering turn sharp — almost knock one woman selling gala for roadside, the woman shout “Ah, madman!” but Tunde no get time to explain.
E take bridge shoulder, dust rising like film scene, horn dey blow from every side. The Hilux try follow, but Lagos traffic no dey favour anybody — one BRT bus just enter im lane like say na film set, block the men wey dey chase.
Tunde use back road wey only Lagos boy sabi — through Bariga, cut inside Iwaya, come surface for Yaba like say nothing happen. E park, hand still shaking, chest dey pound like bata drum.
E look mirror, no shadow again. E breathe. Only for Lagos you go fit run inside danfo, cross bridge, dodge death, and still reach house before your amala cold.
Lagos no dey carry last, and neither did he.
