@lfg_uk Why the obsession with Trams?
I lived in Toronto, trams are not good. Last time I was in Bordeaux the trams weren't operating due to engineering work which meant all adjacent roads were also closed. A 20min journey from the train station was diverted and took 1.5 hours.
@DanNeidle@trevgoes4th@DuxVul Before the election i didnt think Labour could possibly increase taxes even more than the Tories had - but boy was I wrong!
@BigBreakfastLob France's reputation for good food is living on past glories. France is no better than Britain - you can get great food, but there is a lot of poor quality, mass produced crap
@Sacha_Lord@lewis_goodall The Soho Society make a good story, but its not the whole picture. 120 venues in Soho have a late licence. If there was demand they would all be open till 6am, but they're not. The problems are bigger than a residents association complaining
@Layo_FH Yeah, I live in Shoreditch, its quite common. Lots of older couples moved in to be closer to their grown up kids. My street is a mix of retired people and young families. A lot of flats nearby are Airbnbs, so thats forced younger people out too
@AaronBastani@lewis_goodall Maybe they do. But that doesn't factor into why venues that have licences are closing early.
The police have far more say in this than local residents.
@W98AB This whole thing smacks of a "Christmas Wonderland" that promises a magical experience, but turns out to be a horse with reindeer antlers stood in a muddy field.
@DuxVul@trevgoes4th This government has brought in lots of business leaders and carried out a huge number of consultations. I've been involved in several. The problem has been that those experts have not been listened to and recommendations have been accepted and then contradicted by the PLP
