The instrumentalization of the tragedy of all those imprisoned and murdered in the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz for political messaging is a profound moral failure. Auschwitz is not a prop. @KyleLangfordCA, your post is an affront to the dignity of the victims and a disturbing display of insensitivity and disregard to horryfying human history.
No changes to the midweek forecast with a *very serious* fire weather event expected due to strong, dry, long duration Santa Ana winds. Winds will ramp up as soon as late tonight and early Wednesday. Utilize quieter weather today to review emergency plans! #CAwx

Investigate and explain to people that you are going to investigate so there are no surprises. Security controls should not be taken personally by the people being checked, just like a teller shouldn't view the bank counting the money in the drawer (rather than just accepting the teller's count) as an indication that the bank thinks the teller is dishonest. Explain that concept to employees so that they understand it.
But even the best controls will never be foolproof. For that reason (among many others), trustworthiness is a quality that should be appreciated. #principleoftheday
Definitely worth the read… “Why California is having its best #wildfire season in 25 years”. Simply put our significant winter rains & snow are continuing to reduce fire risk so far in 2023. https://t.co/5wX3ss4jdj
The Beverly Hills shield signs were originally placed to differentiate Beverly Hills from Los Angeles, and the symbolic border signs signal to anyone driving or walking by that they are entering a city within a city. According to the @beverlyhillshistoricalsociety, the original shield sign was designed in the 1930s by the Warner Bros. art department at the request of studio president, Jack Warner, who was a Beverly Hills resident @LoveBevHills #lovebevhills Photo: @traydiggz
Players:
• If it’s always someone else’s fault, you’re going nowhere.
• If you’re not working on your own time to get better, you WILL get passed.
• If you think you are good enough and don’t need to keep working hard, you will get humbled.
• If you think you can’t get better playing with/against “lesser talent,” your arrogance is a weakness.
• If your choice is to quit when things get tough, well, the game just might not be for you.
Attitude is, and will always be, everything.
It's a basic reality that if you don't experience the consequences of your actions, you'll take less ownership of them. If you are an employee, and you get a paycheck for turning up and pleasing your boss, your mind-set will inevitably be trained to this cause-effect relationship. If you are a manager, make sure you structure incentives and penalties that encourage people to take full ownership of what they do and not just coast by. This includes straightforward things such as spending money like it's their own and making sure their responsibilities aren't neglected when they're out of the office. When people recognize that their own well-being is directly connected to that of their community, the ownership relationship becomes reciprocal. #principleoftheday
In 2005 Kevin Berthia went to the Golden Gate Bridge to end his life. He had an infant daughter who had been born premature, and the medical costs for her care climbed to nearly $250,000. He couldn't see a way out of debt.
He ended up talking about his life with Officer Kevin Briggs for 92 minutes while he was on the edge of the bridge.
"Somehow the compassion in his voice is what allowed me to kinda let my guard down enough for us to have a conversation,” Berthia would later say.
10 years later they met on the same bridge in much better circumstances.
"The greater picture is that I need to be here for my daughter. You know, she's 10 now and, had you not been there, I wouldn't get to see her grow up,” Berthia told the man who saved him.
Good words and good people can change everything.

A PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS?
A coin left on a headstone lets the deceased Soldier’s family know that somebody stopped by to pay their respect. Leaving a penny on headstone means you visited. A nickel means that you & the deceased Soldier trained at boot camp together. If you served with the Soldier, you leave a dime. A quarter is very significant because it means that you were there when that Soldier died.
The tradition can be traced to as far back as the Roman Empire. It was a way to give a buddy some spending money for the hereafter.
You have to love tradition… #rip #Military #afterlife #Respect #Saturday
