🎥 More from the Kambia rice milling house launch, as featured on SLBC 🇸🇱📺
With support from the Government of Japan 🇯🇵 & Satake, this initiative is transforming the local rice value chain and strengthening #FeedSalone
Yesterday, we had the privilege of launching the first milling house equipped with a high-tech rice processing machine in Kambia, together with Hon. Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Henry Musa Kpaka. This marks a major step in empowering smallholder farmers with the right tools to reduce post-harvest losses, improve rice quality, and increase incomes.
Through the partnership between WFP, the Government of Sierra Leone, and the Government of Japan, we are rolling out 10 more milling houses across the country. These facilities will not only strengthen rice value chains but also support Home-Grown School Feeding, ensuring more locally grown rice reaches school meals.
A special thank you to the Government of Japan for their unwavering support and to the Government of Sierra Leone for their leadership in transforming agriculture. #FeedSalone
WFP remains committed to supporting Sierra Leone’s journey toward food system transformation. Through technical expertise and strategic interventions, we continue to work alongside national efforts to enhance food security. Looking forward to deepening this partnership!
