@peter_levy the fact that politicians are dressing up their propaganda as newspapers isn't a surprise to me. It proves something many of us have thought for a while. Politicians are deceitful and can't be trusted. From Alan, Bridlington.
There will be no whaling in Iceland this summer! 🥳
This is HUGE!
Together with the support of other marine charities and a public outcry in Iceland and abroad, we've saved around 150 fin whales from a painful and horrific death this year.
The Icelandic Government's own advice is that the "method used when hunting large whales does not comply with the Animal Welfare Act." The Minister of Food, Svandís Svavarsdóttir has made it clear that unless the government and license holders can guarantee to meet the welfare requirements (which it can't), whaling has no future!

Very true for most of the country, but their "levelling up" program hasn't reached East Yorkshire in that respect. Bitter NE wind and cloud been around for ages.
HEN HARRIER 'DISAPPEARS' in Bowland: Lancashire Police appeal for information.
This is the 8th HH to 'vanish' this year alone, and the 93rd since brood meddling trial began. What "great progress", eh @TonyJuniper@MarianSpain@RichardHRBenyon ?

Bad news from a former Willow Tit stronghold. I think there is a valid point in the indiscriminate placement of nest boxes encouraging blue and great tits etc., to the detriment of Willow.
@MarkAvery@ChrisGPackham Internal regulation is better for who? For the grouse shooting industry maybe. Certainly not for the hen harriers and other BOPs. They've had enough time and chances.
