Bulgarian Man Who Made Sexual Comments To Schoolgirls Before Assaulting Them Is Found Guilty.

A Bulgarian man who made disgusting sexual comments to a group of schoolgirls in Dundee before violently attacking them has been found guilty.

Ilia Belov, 22, and his 20-year-old sister Nadjedzha Belova faced court this week over a chaotic confrontation in Dundee's Lochee area last August that went viral online.

The clip showed a 12-year-old girl waving a knife and small axe in what she described as a desperate attempt to protect herself and her friends after being assaulted.

Many newspapers, politicians, and online commentators branded the child a feral thug and suggested she and her friends were the real aggressors. Former First Minister Humza Yousaf weighed in, dismissing concerns about the incident as far-right misinformation.

But as Dundee Sheriff Court heard this week, the full picture, backed by CCTV and credible testimony from the girls tells a very different story.

It was a sunny afternoon on 23 August 2025 when four girls, aged between 12 and 14, were walking to a bus stop in St Ann Lane. Belov, a grown man in his early twenties, was strolling past with his sister.

"Hello sexy," he said. "I'll show you a good time."

Shocked and creeped out, the girls called him out for his perverted behaviour and labelled him a creep. That’s when things turned violent.

Belov pushed the 12-year-old so hard that her head slammed into a metal handrail. His sister grabbed a 13-year-old by the hair, dragged her to the ground, and struck her on the head.

Only then, in fear after being assaulted by two adults did the youngest girl pull the knife and axe she had been carrying concealed in her waistband.

Belov, instead of backing off, filmed her.

At the two-day trial, Belov claimed self-defence, saying he only pushed the girl after seeing the knife and that the girls had been abusive first. The sheriff ruled his evidence wholly unconvincing and self-serving and said the girls testimony was eloquent and credible.

The sheriff was entirely satisfied that Belov's sexual comments were the trigger for the whole incident.

In the immediate aftermath, police statements focused heavily on the weapons, leading to the 12-year-old facing scrutiny. Tayside Police later admitted their early information did not fully reflect the situation after reviewing CCTV.

Belov was convicted of assaulting the 12-year-old and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards the group of four girls.

His sister pleaded guilty to assaulting the 13-year-old by hair-pulling and striking her.

Both were released on bail and will be sentenced on 5 August 2026.

Belov could be placed on the Sex Offenders Register due to the sexual comments directed at children.

The Police said:

“Policing has a strong part to play in football, but there is no doubt that accountability and ownership is lacking around football in Scotland.

"Disorder, violence and thuggery is unchecked and is allowed to be shrugged off.

There is an absolute necessity for the SFA and the SPFL to strengthen their regulatory framework around pitch invasions."

I think the Police will be hugely disappointed at today’s outcome.

The SPFL are as much use as a motor home parked outside your mother’s house for the last two years.

A farmer dies in April 2026.

His son inherits the farm. The farm has been in the family since 1847.

The farm consists of: 300 acres of grazing pasture, a farmhouse built in 1892, a barn, a milking parlour, two tractors of varying ages, a Land Rover that runs about 70% of the time, and a herd of 180 Hereford-cross cattle.
