@Recliningdad@jarvis_best These are fine if it is a true family name, but 90% of the time these are added to sound elite/old money and have no connection to the family, in which case they are a profound middle class affectation

@shagbark_hick I’m a New Englander and whenever someone not from the region lumps us in with upstate New York, we’re quick to say “that’s NOT New England” with a hint of snobbery - even coming from people not from high-end areas
