@VivekRammaswamy@krassenstein Biden has been elected to office by the public 10 times that I count. It's up to the public to term limit him. Supreme Court Justices are not elected at all. That is why they should have term limits.
@jemelehill He didn't though. Joe Biden--who I agree is one of the most accomplished presidents--disqualified his own candidacy at the debate and subsequent appearances. Trump had very little to do with that.
Kellyanne Conway just said on Fox News that Kamala Harris doesn’t speak well or work hard — rich considering who she worked for, and laughable because we’ve all heard the VP speak. The racist dog whistles have begun.
As I said this morning, every state has their own election system and the Democrat party will face legal challenges in trying to remove Biden from the top of the ticket.
Turns out the so-called “party of democracy” thinks it can overrule the votes of over 14 million Americans.
@mykola It is true that this wasn't a truly level playing field, just as the actual primaries weren't. But I don't think we're going to get that, and I don't even think it would be a good idea, practically speaking.
@mykola My perspective: we had a de facto open convention. It was the past month we all lived through. Anyone could have made their play openly. Lots of people did, not so openly. Kamala Harris won that contest convincingly, because she is the incumbent VP.
Broke my posting moratorium thinking maybe this place has some interesting insight or compelling action plan for what we're living through.
Not really.
Back to withholding my thoughts and attention from the site owned by Elon.
@mekkaokerekebye - Are you uniquely suited for the job?
- Do you already have other offers?
- Are you safe if everything falls through?
All these things are risk mitigations. If none are true, maybe the bird in hand is the safest.
@mekkaokerekebye Yep. People get caught up in binaries and norms, when it's a question of risk. If you take the time to explore, the company will, too. Make the decision with your risk tolerance in mind.
@jemelehill@RonWechsler I don't think that's true if his primary debate performances looked like Thursday. If there weren't primary debates or he didn't participate, I agree.
What he should have done is announced his intention to serve only 1 term a year ago.
@Granuailynn@jemelehill @Schueller_Kevin @mattwilson2124 1. The sibling comment I referenced and agreed with mentions Harris and Michelle Obama.
2. There's a question of how safe to play, given that I truly do believe our democracy is at risk.
I think Kamala beats Trump, but is not the lowest risk.
@jemelehill @Schueller_Kevin @mattwilson2124 Biden's core weakness when it comes to this election is he doesn't seem in command, in any sense, and most of his other electoral weaknesses are rooted in that.
@jemelehill @Schueller_Kevin I agree with @mattwilson2124 -- I honestly think most qualified Dems would easily do it. I'm not an expert, but I would say a governor like Polis, Pritzker, Murphy, etc.
