@RMNEmilyEB Well done Emily. Always wonderful to receive positive feedback - we all enjoy recognition for a job well done. A reminder too about what's important to patients and their families. Keep up your great work.
@CharWeeks2 Great to hear from you too Char, thank you. NDHP seems like a life time ago and an amazing initiative at the time too. Thanks again and hope you are well.
Well today’s the end of an era, retiring from full time work after almost 47 years, including 45 years of those in healthcare. Started back in 1979 in mental health at St Matthew’s Hospital in the UK (a former county lunatic asylum, how things have changed since then), moved to Australia in 1986 and concluding at @jewishcarevic today, after a very enjoyable, fulfilling and enriching career. More travelling now as Jacquie and I begin to enjoy retirement together. Thanks to so many amazing colleagues for your camaraderie, friendship and inspiration over almost five decades. Extra special thanks to my amazing wife and beautiful daughters for supporting me throughout and thank you to all my mentors. Shout-out too to Jim Collins @level5leaders as a constant source of #GoodtoGreat inspiration along the way. The many faces and places of an amazing era are captured here. Never knew where St Matthew's would take me and feel so privileged to have had these opportunities. And yes, would do it all again ! But for now, Boards and some consulting with #Acumenity and very happy with that. Now here's to the next 50 years 😀 Happy Easter too !
@Cannulator Well Cannulator, many thanks and now I know who you are ! Great to hear from you after all these years. And PS, not sure though if it was always my fault 🤣
@LisaMaryGill Thanks Lisa, lovely to hear from you too. Yes, we certainly shared some parallel experiences, I still remember your interview on that eventful Friday afternoon ! Must catch up on your most recent chapter ... but wherever you go, you will do great work. Be well, Alan
@SimonG20 Some of them were just copies of course Dr G ! Must admit, I knew they would be put to good use one day and retirement day seemed the perfect opportunity to make it all happen ! Thanks Simon too for your great support and wisdom.
@Deborah96249082 That was a long time ago Deborah and we had a lot of fun too ! Nice to hear from you. I can also remember you from my student days in Ward 2 with Sr Wilson ! Hope you're well, you look like you're enjoying life too. take care, Alan
Thank you so much Jane. We certainly worked together during very exciting and innovative times. I learned lots too and you'll be pleased to know that there are many talking about 'improvement' in the way you taught us. Be well.
@anita_wilton and privileged to have shared it with you and the great team at Eastern Health, Anita. Look back with great fondness. Keep well and thank you, AL.
@jamesfm55@careopinion@careopinionau Thanks James and so glad to have been part of the @careopinionau and @careopinion journey, a real highlight of my career. A game-changer for our patients, clients and their families. Back in touch recently with the team in Aus so will continue to participate with great interest.
@ikhenderson Thank you Isabel for grounding me and reminding me, there'll still be lots of great things to do whilst the pace will be different ! Thanks too for being a terrific collaborator over the years. My trip to Edmonton was truly a highlight. Be well.
