@Dan4Barnet What about what they are still doing to victims of the retrospective #LoanChargeScandal? An independent review ? Don’t make me laugh. HMRC are laughing at you too while they continue to kill us. A modern day version of Yes Minister. Gullible. Pointless. Weak.
@sussexlc@allthesurveyors@CSWnews Viewed in context and far from being "fair to the majority of those who pay their taxes due on time", the poorly targeted and administered albatross of a retrotax policy is an epic spaffing of taxpayer money. What is 'made real' here is #LoanCharge as HMRC Emperor's New Clothes.
@Dan4Barnet Get a grip of the civil servants who are killing people with the retrospective #LoanChargeScandal - that review is hopelessly flawed. You clearly do not understand enough about it.
@RedHawkWinter@coventry_robert@IainDale@LBC 11 poor souls apparently died for nothing but a rushed, improvised policy never thought out or impact analysed. Too bad that despite claiming the high ground, HMRC have run interference with the intent of Parliament to resolve this mess through several #LoanChargr reviews.
@RedHawkWinter@coventry_robert@IainDale@LBC The real difficulty with #LoanChargeScandal comes when once in power, with multiple briefs, and ministers meet the wall of resistance from HMT & HMRC mindset. But the failed policy is economically indefensible, which is even starting to come back on the PAC committee radar.
I sincerely hope that any #loancharge investigation incorporates APNs as I've been constantly harassed for 18 years, with no proven debt and it's now beyond a joke.
@Brainscan205@yorkshirepost A la Civil Service Mandelson antics, HMT and HMRC officials have run interference with MPs over #LoanCharge and it's implementation from the outset. Like a nobbled jury, so-called independent reviews are demonstrably HMT and HMRC-influenced, so better to have a Public Enquiry.
@Brainscan205@yorkshirepost Instead of getting to the heart of the matter, the HMRC-insider McCann Review has led to an opaque, convoluted settlement calculation, weirdly factoring in promoters fees to offset the already meagre 'discount' element. All largely negated by aforementioned inflated liabilities.
@Brainscan205@yorkshirepost Ex-HMRC senior official McCann 'independent' (lol) #LoanCharge Review was supposedly tasked with finding out and removing the barriers to settlement. Many of which were caused by weaponised HMRC processes (years of delays and aforementioned maximised liabilities). All ignored...
@accountancylive 11 suicides under his watch at HMRC from the #LoanChargeScandal because Harra misled MP's and pursued a punishment strategy.
People are dead because of actions of his organisation
@Stephen41792571 Admitting to industrialised evasion - or avoidance for that matter, on Harra's HMRC CEO watch, might have put that pension and gong at risk. Then there was that FOI moment when his RCDTS company was revealed to have been hiring contractors via loan schemes over several years...
@gregwrightYP@loanchargeAPPG The level of HMT and HMRC interference with several #LoanCharge reviews is tantamount to keeping the issue under internal review, a la #POHorizon, and so - like that scandal, no real progress is possible until investigation is truly away from corporate/Govt control and influence
@NotRichYoungFa1@itcontracting@SarahEGabbai@loanchargeAPPG@LCAG_2019@SarahEGabbai It was Ray McCann HIMSELF who wrote the terms of Reference so I don’t think we should be saying he did what he could under the circumstances! 😩Perhaps you were not aware of that ? Please look at the written parliamentary question and answer https://t.co/9mKSwDIIsH
