Thank you to our sponsors at @PerkinsCoieLLP , @tryramp and @Microsoft
@jimmydouglas Uber has a program where they partner with rental companies like Hertz / Avis and a couple EV subscription startups + offer additional incentives - have spoken with a few drivers who have found it to be a positive experience. Ofc, they can also buy and finance w/ @RechargedEVs 🤷♂️
The EV readiness of traditional dealers may be driving the major difference between consumers considering an EV (51%) and actual sales figures (~7%). Education is required to bridge the gap.
51% of consumers are now considering either a new or used EV, up from 38% in 2021 according to Cox Automotive.
That’s right — for the first time most Americans are considering an EV when they shop for a car.
Tesla, focus on quality. Only 12% Degradation after 200,000 Miles!
🔺A cause of battery degradation is the solvents in the wet process of making a battery. The dry battery electrode process doesn’t use solvents, which removes this cause of degradation. DBE 4680s will likely degrade even less than this measly 12%.
🔺Battery minerals are almost 100% recyclable. They need to be mined once and can be used multiple times.
🔺Also, 200,000 Miles usage! Remember when a car died around 100,000 miles, or was constantly in the shop after 80,000? EVs are more reliable and cost less to own than ICE.
@blovereviews True. That’s how we (and most of the resale market) treats FSD. Though if a buyer is actually interested in FSD, it’s a big win for them. This may change overtime as demand / knowledge of FSD grows.
While the deal seems to only impact pricing in China, will be interesting to see if there are any spillover pricing impacts in the US. This likely props up Chinese EV startups and gives them more breathing room (for reference, Tesla's model Y starting price is 25% lower in China)
We are pleased to announce that Mercedes-Benz drivers will soon have access to more than 12,000 @Tesla Superchargers in North America, starting in 2024.

Tesla and China’s top EV makers including BYD sign a deal pledging to maintain fair competition and avoid “abnormal pricing,” signaling a possible end to a damaging price war in the world’s biggest EV market https://t.co/4B4h2fDgaP
Eyes will be on Tesla’s GM% after a quarter full of price cuts when they report earnings later this month but they’ve made it clear that volume growth is the priority right now.
