It's really sad when a brand like @uBreakiFix gets acquired by @Asurion /"@AsurionCares" (nope) only to end up ripping off their customers and breaking the law.

@uBreakiFix Thank you, auto reply. If you think I'm going to waste more of my time by calling in to wait on hold in a contact center, you're exactly the criminal enterprise I thought you were. You can have a *person* reach out to me via PM if you like. Otherwise, goodbye.
@uBreakiFix@Asurion@AsurionCares Finally, this is just the wrong way to do business. If you make a mistake, you own it and make up for it in a meaningful way. As someone others look to for technology choices, I will steer everyone I can away from criminal enterprises like @Asurion. I hope you do, too.

@uBreakiFix@Asurion@AsurionCares He made excuses, blaming @GooglePixel_US, blaming others. After it became clear that he was either unwilling or unempowered to do anything about it, I left after they put the broken screen back on the phone.

@uBreakiFix@Asurion@AsurionCares After waiting about 20 minutes to speak to the manager, it was clear he wasn't empowered to do a damn thing about it. He made excuses that they were knew. The other customers in the store were astonished.

When I did, I was asked to pay about $180 dollars. This is more than the cost to replace the phone on @swappa
(which most people should use instead of @uBreakiFix). I never would have given them her phone if I had known that.

In my case, I went to my local store to see if it made sense to pay to get the cracked screen on my daughter's @GooglePixel_US 6a replaced. I left with a quote of $0 and was told to come back in a few hours

@altNOAA They disappeared due to being overleveraged by vulture capitalists, and being late (but not absent!) on ecommerce. I wonder, if they'd had the capital and freer leadership, if they might have thrived.
How did the movement -- at least in name -- that had done tremendous things for world missions become associated with Christian Nationalism, which is ridiculous from the perspective of world missions?
