The fuckers at AWP have jacked up Bookfair prices, while at the same time stripping away the 4 free author signings once included, and now have the gall to charge exhibitors a $100 admin fee to share a booth or table. The greed is never-ending. The money grabbing is relentless.

Zoila Guerra Sandoval lost her former partner, Jose Mynor Lopez, in the 2024 Key Bridge collapse. In response, the government offered her permanent residency if she applied. She did. Clerical errors blocked it. Now, she faces deportation and possible separation from their 7-year-old U.S. citizen daughter, who has already lost her father. A promise was made and broken. A mother should not have to fight to stay in the country where her partner gave his life working.
My MFA was good for my writing. I know people dismiss it, but it was a couple years spent aggressively pursuing what it taught me. Most of all, I read. And read. And read more. And got appropriate feedback. Better writing followed. You don't need a degree to do that, but I did.

Scoop: DOGE allegedly used ChatGPT to identify approx 1,400 National Endowment for the Humanities grants the AI tool deemed as related to DEI, which were then terminated in April of last year, according to a new court filing released today.
Among the terminated grants were a film analyzing how baseball helped heal frictions between the U.S. and Japan caused by World War I; a documentary titled "The Untold Story of Jewish Women Slave Labor in the Holocaust;" a film focused on the Colfax massacre of 1873, where dozens of Black men were murdered by a mob of Confederate soldiers and KKK members; and a film about the first female pilots to fly for the U.S. military during World War II.

@ewenglass If through submittable, withdraw the whole submission. If not through submittable, let them know you do not grant them the copyright to the work. That will be sufficient on your end as the submitter. Sorry they are being unprofessional.
