The Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP), procured under the project, is being used to measure River flows in the BUPUSA basins. The results provide a better estimate of the amount of water being generated in the basins and thus supporting the Water Sharing Agreements.

Eng. Helio Banze, #Mozambique's Permanent Secretary for Water urged member states to align their decisions to regional and integrated processes, based on the priorities of regional cooperation in order to create an environment conducive to the achievement of common objectives.
Water resources can help communities cooperate if properly managed. At the same time, the same water resources can be a source of conflict if mismanaged. RBOs in SADC must exploit the opportunities and ensure that water resources support sustainable development in the region.
Ms. Zanele Lulane speaks on the importance of youth engagement. She says that youth involvement fosters ownership and responsibility for water resources and empowering young people will contribute to social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
