While it's true that FEMA's response to Hurricane Helene has not been perfect, there are outrageous rumors that have been circulated online and need to be addressed ⬇️.

One year ago today, we awakened to a new day in Jacksonville. We have accomplished much together in this first year: • We reopened Friendship Fountain, opened the first link of the Emerald Trail, and opened all our city pools after only half were open last summer. • We launched health programs for food insecurity, mental health, telehealth, and infant mortality. We opened cooling and heating centers to protect citizens from extreme temperatures. And our Get Covered Jax campaign reduced Jacksonville’s uninsured population by 34%. • We put millions of dollars towards programs and resources that support small business owners and took additional steps to becoming the Small Business Capital of the Southeast. • We tackled the twin crises of affordable housing and homelessness with millions of dollars in rental assistance, eviction protection, roof replacement, down payment assistance, and programs that support people who are chronically homeless and those who are right on the cusp. • With less than half of our third graders reading at grade level, we launched Mayor Deegan’s River City Readers in January. Children and families have already passed 1 million minutes read and counting. • We took down a monument to a time when we didn’t fully see each other’s humanity. • We negotiated historic agreements to increase the pay and retirement benefits of our brave firefighters, police and corrections officers. And we lived up to our reputations as America’s most military- and veteran-friendly city. • The historic Stadium of the Future agreement passed to keep the Jaguars in Jacksonville for decades to come, build a world class stadium that we can use for non-NFL events, and complete our riverfront parks system. • We negotiated the largest ever community benefits agreement that will pump tens of millions of dollars into workforce development, affordable housing, and homelessness programs. We remain committed to passing this package in July when City Council returns. • And we diversified our city boards to bring more of our citizens into the process of leading our city. The work of our first year has been about deciding who we want to be as a city: a city of untapped potential or a city that finally meets its promise for everyone. We’re just getting started. The time is now to turn renderings into reality, ensure that prosperity is felt across our entire community, and build a city that works for all of us. Let’s keep working together to continue our progress.

Earlier today I had the pleasure of speaking on @SquawkCNBC to discuss the hot real estate market and how Compass’ business is booming across all of our markets after a record-breaking Q2 earnings!
Big news: Compass is announcing that we will be launching our own mortgage company, called @originpoint, to help @Compass agents deliver a simpler, faster, more transparent, and more seamless closing process for their buyers and sellers.
Jill and I send our thoughts to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for a swift recovery. We will continue to pray for the health and safety of the president and his family.
U are exactly right to tell the kids, there was no intent to hit anyone but that is concrete rule, everyone knows that and u can’t ever put yourself in that situation plain and simple
