Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, CON, PhD, received the Certificate of Return as Gombe State Gubernatorial Candidate for the People's Democratic Party.
The Certificate was presented by the National Chairman of the Party, His Excellency Abdurrahman Muhammad, on behalf of the National Working Committee.
Press Release: Our father, Mallam Nasir @elrufai, is still being held by the ICPC. Today, 15 May 2026, we witnessed two distinct yet equally serious attacks on his basic rights. First, his personal Doctor visited the ICPC at about 3pm to discuss the results of medical tests recently conducted on our father. Officials at the agency blocked the doctor from seeing him, claiming that written permission from the ICPC Chairman was required. This directly flouts a clear court order granting Mallam Nasir El‑Rufai unrestricted access to his doctors.
Second, his wife, Aunty Aichatou, brought his evening meal at around 7pm as she normally does. ICPC personnel turned her away, saying they had orders not to permit food deliveries after 6:30pm. This arbitrary rule is no less offensive than blocking his right to medical care.
These acts are an outright assault on the rule of law and a clear violation of our father's constitutional and human rights. No lawful detention justifies denying medical access or refusing basic family care based on an arbitrary curfew fixed by the ICPC. Shame on them as an institution.
We demand that all his constitutional rights be fully respected. We will no longer accept this pattern of intimidation dressed up as protocol. The ICPC must abide by the very laws it claims to enforce.
Signed

The implication of Obi-Kwankwaso NDC gamble
The biggest political foul Obi and Kwankwaso will make is to part ways with the ADC coalition. No matter how charismatic a leader is, people do not follow him to a grave. As long as ADC is alive, NDC will not fly.
If APC can plant Nafiu in the biggest opposition coalition ADC, why do you think they cannot create another Nafiu in NDC or PRP to destablise them. The problem bedeviling ADC is not Nafiu, but corrupt judiciary and biased electoral umpire. As long as no opposion party has control over judiciary and INEC, these challenges will persist.
My advice is: stay in ADC to fight together. A boat cannot go forward if everyone is rowing in his own way.
Defeating a ruling party like APC and a politician like Tinubu is not an easy task, even if all the political parties in Nigeria will gang up against him.
If anyone doubted Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s role in the ADC crises, this development should remove that doubt. The Attorney General of the Federation (not APC’s legal adviser or any other person) is asking the court to deregister the main opposition party. Bunch of RASCALS!
It is increasingly evident that Nigeria’s democracy, and indeed the integrity of the 2027 general elections is in serious jeopardy. Democracy itself is now facing an existential threat. However, I do not want to believe that the judiciary, long regarded as the last hope of the common man, would align with the ruling APC in any effort that could undermine or destroy our democratic foundations. -AA
Visa fees should be after visas have been approved, or at least refund the payment upon rejection.
It's only right. If you don't want someone in your country, DON'T TAKE THEIR MONEY.
I will never support the LAWFARE being waged against former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai. @elrufai
Let the courts uphold the rule of law by granting him bail and ensuring he receives a fair trial. Bail is a constitutional right not a tool for punishment or intimidation.
Using bail as a means of caging Nigerians is unjust, unlawful, and unacceptable. It is a practice we must all reject, regardless of who is involved.
Had Tinubu allowed PDP, LP and NNPP to thrive without placing and financing moles to fight them, there wouldn’t have been Atiku, Obi and Kwankwaso sitting under one roof today.
As a Hausa proverb wisely cautions, when digging a trap, do not make it so deep that if you fall into it, you cannot climb out.
