@satsyd_finsun My next house is getting a Japanese style bathroom with a deep tub. I don't crave many finer things in life, but a good bath is one of them.
I saw Obsession over the weekend; and people say it's a monkey's paw this, a BPD that; but I think it's primarily a "weak men make hard times" with a side of "casual hookups are bad, actually" thing. Beef jerky, cut and dried.
The people who are always getting buttdanged about every little thing need to hit the gym and start building something; and by "something" I mean like a model train set, ship in a bottle, origami, knitting, etc.
Not that we all have to have a take on everything but there are not a few ortho people upset over this FSDY interview because of his view on Nephilim. My takeaway:
1. There are differing views in the early church on Giants. The Sethite view is the pervasive one. FSDY Takes a more minority view which seems to be becoming more popular today but did not push a human hybrid race of giants (downplayed their size). He rather expressed through scholarship the giants were produced by a cult of ritual sex acts between humans who took demonic possession to acquire power. Fallen Angels did not actually procreate (which seems to be a hang up for many).
2. The rest of the interview highlights Orthodoxy and salvation. Gives insight into the many issues in modernity and things people struggle with and how with the spiritual process we can deal with them.
3. From what I heard this was blessed by his Met. Saba.
@gaitanalyst Tangential, but I recall a study looking at variance between verbal and non-verbal IQ; & there are a considerable number of people out there with 2 stdev (or more!) between them. Silver-tongued morons are a major hazard in the era of Twitter and Twitch.
@FrLillie The "when exactly am I saved" type of argument can be used to argue against binary gender, the existence of distinct colors, of ethnicities, etc. This kind of thinking is why the world is such a mess.
@PageauJonathan I am certain there is a correlation between people who don't like parables and people who are otherwise able-bodied but will protest that not being able to run a mile in under 9 minutes is somehow a virtue.
@fleshsimulator Calling out heightfrauds is one of life's small joys. I have 7 scalps on my belt, you're not allowed to lie about your height at my house party when I've provided food and drink. Always leave a tape measure out when entertaining, it's a great conversation piece.
