Ci sono cascati in molti, e me ne dispiace, compreso @MaxMazzucco che stimo. È stato indotto a rilasciare una dichiarazione dopo aver visionato uno stralcio di video estrapolato dal contesto, tale da lasciare spazio a un’interpretazione distorta delle parole del Generale.

Queste posizioni di Vannacci sono ben note a chi lo segue da tempo. Non sono mai state nascoste. Le ha espresse pubblicamente a Porta a Porta, da Bruno Vespa, il 5 giugno 2024, sulla TV pubblica, nella trasmissione di punta di RAI 1.

Il Generale Vannacci ha inoltre annunciato che tornerà ufficialmente sull’argomento durante l’Assemblea Costituente del 13 e 14 giugno prossimi.

Mi auguro che questa polemica inutile, e per certi versi distruttiva, si chiuda una volta per tutte. Una polemica che ha come unico effetto quello di infangare l’onore e la reputazione del Generale.

C’è persino chi ha avuto da ridire sul numero di vaccini che ha fatto Vannacci. Un militare è tenuto a sottoporsi a una serie di vaccinazioni previste dal proprio servizio. È un fatto noto e facilmente verificabile. A certe argomentazioni non vale nemmeno la pena rispondere.

The most famous religious song in the world was not written as a prayer.

You have heard Ave Maria a thousand times. Everyone assumes Franz Schubert wrote it as a setting of the ancient Catholic prayer, the Hail Mary, but he did not...

This melody was never composed for the Latin prayer at all.

In 1825, at the age of 28, Schubert was working his way through a German translation of a poem by the Scottish writer Sir Walter Scott, The Lady of the Lake. It is an adventure story, set among the warring clans of the sixteenth-century Scottish Highlands. In one scene, the heroine, a young woman named Ellen Douglas, is in hiding with her father in a mountain cave. Alone and afraid, she sings a song asking the Virgin Mary for help.

Schubert set seven songs from that poem to music. Three of them were sung by Ellen, and this was the last of her three. He called it, plainly, Ellens dritter Gesang — 'Ellen's Third Song.' Its opening words were the two she would naturally cry out in her prayer: Ave Maria.

That was all it took...

The melody was so achingly beautiful that, in the years that followed, people began fitting the full Latin text of the actual Hail Mary prayer over his music. The fit was so natural, and the result so moving, that in the popular imagination the song became the prayer.

Schubert died in 1828, at thirty-one. He had written more than six hundred songs, and much of his work was still unpublished and little known beyond a small circle in Vienna.

He never knew that one melody, written for a fictional girl in a cave, would become one of the most beloved pieces of music in human history.

It is a strange and beautiful thing. The most famous prayer ever set to music began as a song about someone who was simply afraid, and reaching, in the dark, for something to hold onto. Perhaps that is exactly why it has never stopped moving people. It was a real prayer before it was ever a holy one...

La Burla de Cristo (también conocida como Cristo con el soldado burlón) es una de las obras de arte devocional más conmovedoras e impactantes del pintor académico danés Carl Bloch, realizada al óleo en 1880.

La pintura plasma el pasaje bíblico del Evangelio de Mateo (27:28-31) en el que los soldados romanos humillan públicamente a Jesús antes de su crucifixión.

El elemento más poderoso del cuadro es el contacto visual directo de Jesús con el espectador.

Mientras el soldado se mofa a sus espaldas, Cristo ignora por completo a su agresor y clava una mirada profunda, serena y firme directamente hacia quien observa la pintura.

A brief history: she's one of the youngest canonized Catholic saints.

An Italian peasant girl, she was tragically stabbed to death at age 11 while resisting a sexual assault by a neighbor, Alessandro Serenelli. On her deathbed, she famously forgave her attacker.

Her tomb is located in the crypt of the Basilica of Our Lady of Graces and Saint Maria Goretti in Nettuno, Italy, south of Rome.
