Britain’s real specialty after World War One wasn’t drawing maps.

It was manufacturing permanent enemies and calling it statecraft.

In the Middle East they dismantled the Ottoman multi-ethnic system and forced the pieces into brand-new nation-states.

Then they sold Palestine twice in the same decade.

First they dangled independence in front of the Arabs to get them to revolt.

Then they issued the Balfour Declaration, promising a Jewish national home on the same land a convenient down-payment for wartime finance,

American sympathy, and postwar leverage over the route to India and the oil fields.

Two sets of customers, one piece of real estate, zero intention of delivering clean title to either.

The identical technique later appeared in South Asia.

When Britain finally quit India in 1947 it partitioned the subcontinent into India and Pakistan along religious lines, triggering mass slaughter and the largest forced migration of the twentieth century.

Two hostile states, forever suspicious of each other, were far safer for British interests than one strong, independent giant.

The pattern was and is still consistent.

Create artificial borders that freeze religious and ethnic rivalries into official geography.

Install weak governments that need external patrons.

Then leave, while the new countries bleed and buy weapons and remain too divided to challenge the old imperial order.

Britain did not simply mismanage the Middle East.

It applied the same cold arithmetic it later used in India!

Better two weak, mutually hostile states than one strong, independent region.

The invoices are still being paid in blood, refugees, and endless foreign “mediation.”

All that was never accidental.

It was the business model.
