@adamboxer1@tes It does seem weird compared to other schools but I've never known any different. One reason for it working which my SLT cite is that it has a positive effect on the middle ability students as they don't end up with any real/imagined ceiling on them due to being in a lower set.
@adamboxer1@tes Yep! We have triple as an option and they generally are higher achieving (one/two may end up doing F). We have H and F in the same class in combined (between 10-25% of the class are F).
@adamboxer1@tes My school's mixed ability for everything except for maths (although that is mixed for Y7 & Y8 apart from a small nurture group). Our P8 was 1.35 in 2024 and 1.3 in 2025. Outside of my training year, I've never taught with sets so it just seems normal to me now.
