Stephen Kinnock explains the Dublin agreement where the UK could send asylum seekers back to the first country they stepped into the EU, when we were members of the EU
With Brexit, when we left the EU, we were no longer able to do that
Fiona Bruce interjects and says we didn't use the Dublin agreement to do that very often, and she's right
Because the Dublin agreement served as a deterrent
As soon as we left the EU, the deterrent was gone, and we were longer able to use it
That's also why Farage's Brexit Boats Of Asylum Seekers shot up after Brexit because they knew the UK was outside of the EU, and couldn't apply the Dublin agreement to return people
It is absolutely time for our Armed Forces to lead the way, to set an example and to be an exemplary employer. There is no room in the Services for racism, sexism, homophobia or misogyny. No room at all.
"Those behaviours betray what we stand for." 🗣️
Chief of the General Staff urges personnel to call out racism, sexism, homophobia and misogyny in service.

Abuse has no place in politics. It disproportionately deters women. And it's getting worse, as LWN sisters know all too well.
It is time for action: social media, police & political parties must do more to #diffuseabuse.

Great to see the government delivering its commitment to an inquiry into Orgreave.
Let’s hope it will deliver justice for the miners and their families who were brutalised by the Police and demonised by the right wing press and politicians 40 years ago.
A statutory inquiry into Orgreave has finally been announced. This is a long overdue step welcomed across our movement. #Orgreave
We stand with the miners, campaigners and trade unionists whose determination made it possible.✊

Please stay hydrated in this heat, even if it’s cloudy and even if you’re indoors. Also please check in on your older neighbours if you can. ❤️

This is excellent news. As a service leaver I didn’t really know what the Covenant meant or would do for me practically. So great to see the Covenant get some teeth to make a real difference.

9years ago today Jo was murdered. I think about her every single day and am lucky to have so many wonderful memories, but the pain never goes. Whatever our views we must never normalise abuse, threats, intimidation and political violence #JoCox#Sisters#MoreInCommon
A visual paints a thousand words. Great campaigning yet again by my friend and colleague @LizzieLabour about the realities for women when it comes to health inequalities.
Many women have told me they've been started on anti-depressants in their early 40s for symptoms they later realised were menopausal (myself included) – "A generation of women over 50 stuck taking antidepressants"
