The issue with social media algorithms is that they are built to promote controversial shit.

Before Trump was elected, all we could read about the US was woke, LGBTQ, violence etc. That's what the algorithm wanted us to see, convincing us that America is super woke, full of queer, guns etc.

Now, in the blink of an eye, there's no more woke in US, but all of a sudden, the algorithm pushes that EU is shit, that you go to jail for insulting people, and all that.

Unfortunately, the regular Joe doesn't discern between noise and facts, and tends to follow the noise, especially when it's amplified.

Fortunately, as an European, I know posts like these are shit. Yes, Europe is behind in tech, yes, we are over regulated, but let's follow the facts....
