Labor’s record:
- Record company tax take for government
- Record insolvency rates and aussie business failures
- Record public sector growth &
- Record growth in new regulations & govt interference in the economy.
But Albo is here from the government and he is here to ‘help’…
I am deeply saddened and distressed by the news out of Wangaratta tonight involving Dr Helen Haines MP.
I’m praying for Helen and thinking of her family and loved ones.
This is a shocking day for our nation.
No one should be targeted in this way.
Australians will be angry and appalled by the attack on Helen outside her electorate office in Wangaratta.
Our nation cannot become a place where violent attacks are normalised.
I’ve spoken with the Prime Minister, and we are united in our view that political violence must never be accepted as part of public life.
I hope Helen, her family and her community across north-east Victoria know that Australians right across the country are thinking of them and holding them in their thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.
“It’s only for institutionalised journalists who are on the government’s payroll.”
Following yesterday’s Press Club address by Communications Minister Anika Wells, IPA Research Fellow Margaret Chambers explains why the revised Digital Duty of Care bill could leave podcasters and everyday Australians exposed to censorship.

A win for older Australians.
We’ve fought to stop Labor’s private health insurance rebate cuts, which would have left over-65s paying up to $1,614 more a year.
Today, the Senate voted to remove Labor’s Bill from Parliament.
The fact Labor even considered removing this rebate shows they couldn’t care less about older Australians.
Australians are living Labor’s cost-of-living crisis. We will keep fighting to ease pressure, not add to it.
Three years ago today, Hamas terrorists invaded and attacked Israel. The terrorists from Gaza came not only equipped with guns and grenades, they also wore body cams and carried mobile phones to film their barbarous acts. They felt no guilt. They acted with glee. They weaponised rape. They tortured and mutilated children, women and men. They took some 250 people hostage. They brutally murdered some 1,200 innocent people.
October 7 was the greatest loss of Jewish life on a single day since the Holocaust. And it should not be forgotten that Hamas vowed to repeat their savagery many times over until Israel is annihilated.
On the third anniversary of Israel’s “9/11”, we remember those who were murdered, those who survived and are still living with the horrors of that day, those who endured the most unimaginable captivity, and those families who are still grieving the loss of loved ones.
In October 2025, soon after the final hostages were released, I visited Israel. I went to the site of the Nova music festival where young people were massacred. I visited kibbutzim where families and communities were butchered. I watched the shocking footage of Hamas’ sadistic crimes. And I spoke with survivors and heroes.
That profound experience reinforced to me another thing we must do on every anniversary of October 7. We must remember the facts and fight for the truth. Because even today, there are those who downplay, deny and even defend Hamas’ atrocities. There are those who seek to portray the victim, Israel, as the villain, and portray the villain, Hamas, as the victim. There are those who deceitfully accuse Israel of genocide, yet turn a blind eye to groups and regimes with real genocidal intent.
Such perversions of the truth and lack of moral clarity help to fuel antisemitism and make it permissible. The fight against antisemitism is therefore a fight for the truth – a fight that continues on our soil too. And that fight for the truth is also about acknowledging and combatting all sources of antisemitism, especially Islamist extremism.
On behalf of the Coalition, my prayers and abiding friendship are with the brave people of Israel, and with our Jewish community who are dear and valued Australians. Whether it’s in Israel, in Australia, or most recently, thousands of feet up in the air in a passenger jet, the Jewish people continue to be characterised by strength, stoicism and valour. We know you will prevail because you love life more than your enemies love death.
And we are with you, always.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has explicitly linked Labor’s new internet regime to tackling “misinformation and disinformation” in unpublished remarks to the United Nations.

The RBA hasn’t looked at whether cutting government spending reduces inflation…for the sake of the 3 million households with mortgages, I hope they can run this scenario before our next meeting.
I was honored to join President Bush at @TheBushCenter to reflect on the 25th anniversary of September 11th. We discussed the legacy and meaning of 9/11, honoring the memories of those lost and the heroes who stood tall, the values that unite us as Americans, and the enduring importance of public service. https://t.co/QnJHBHTSNr
🇺🇸 September 14, 2001. Ground Zero.
President Bush climbed onto a wrecked fire truck with a retired FDNY man named Bob Beckwith and a bullhorn.
A worker in the pile yelled that he could not hear him.
Bush: “I can hear you! I can hear you! The rest of the world hears you! And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!”

25 years on, we remember the lives lost on September 11 2001. We remember our soldiers lives lost during the war on terror as Australia took up the global fight against radical Islamic terrorism. Australia will always stand with our ally America in defence of our freedom. 🇦🇺🇺🇸
Labor is deliberately not telling you that these laws are about regulating Adults behaviour online with the regulators and Minister, Anika Wells, given extraordinary powers to decide what views are banned. That is what the Liberal & National Party's voted against.
And there it is. Labor just admitted that they will decide what is 'harmful' online.
In other words, if you criticise Net Zero, mass immigration and anything else against their agenda, you will be deemed harmful.
This is Labor's Big Brother Bill.
The Liberal and Nationals Coalition will oppose Labor's sneaky attempt to dictate what you can see and read online.
Labor say these laws are to impose a Duty of Care but they are not about care, they are about control. Buried in the proposed law is the ability for the Communications Minister to decide what is harmful content. And, this same Minister said this week that she thinks people are losing trust in her because of social media.
We can not give the power to decide what you read, see or write to politicians that are not impartial judges.
These laws do not protect people, they are designed to protect politicians.
We must oppose Labor's Big Brother Bill.
The Coalition will oppose Labor's new online Censorship Bills. Anika Wells is attempting to revisit Labor's deeply flawed and divisive misinformation and disinformation laws.
As we mark the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, we remember the almost 3,000 people killed including the 10 Australians, we think of their families, and we face the fact that Islamist extremism remains a significant threat.
My commitment to Australians is to keep out, and root out Islamist extremism.
We will protect our way of life.
There will be no widow’s tax.
And not because Labor wanted it gone.
But because the Coalition forced Labor to axe it.
It has been 98 days since Labor announced its widow tax.
For 98 days, the Government has been warned about the harm it would cause and promised to fix it.
And for 98 days, Australians have been left waiting. Every day of delay has created more uncertainty for Australians facing some of the most difficult circumstances in their life.
Yesterday, I wrote to the PM and made our position crystal clear.
We would not support the Government’s NDIS changes until Labor repealed its cruel widow tax.
He caved.
After 98 days of delay, a tax that should never have been introduced in the first place will be axed.
Widows, divorcees and victims of domestic violence should not be forced to pay a financial penalty at some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
They certainly shouldn’t have to pay for Labor’s incompetence.
This is what happens when a Government becomes so addicted to spending that it starts looking everywhere for more money to tax.
But the widow tax is just one toxic tax in a Budget full of toxic taxes.
If Australians want all these toxic taxes axed, they need to axe this toxic government.
When your spouse dies, the first message from Canberra shouldn't be a tax bill.
That's why the Liberals will repeal Labor's Widows Tax, and all the other family savings taxes that no one voted for.
