Codex updates with GPT-live, but no announcement to Codex fast on cerebras:

- GPT-Live brings ChatGPT Voice to Chat, Work, and Codex.
- macOS screen context now understands the active window.
- Projects now support multiple folders with a primary folder.

I really hope they release more than this. They hyped today’s release up quite a bit.

What I love about ChatGPT Work is that it doesn’t merely help me complete individual tasks—it expands the size of the problems I can realistically take on by myself.

I can begin with a half-formed idea, a giant pile of notes, old documents, conflicting research, and several months of accumulated decisions. ChatGPT can help me interrogate the premise, find the missing variables, research the subject, compare competing explanations, preserve the important decisions, and turn the whole mess into an actual working system.

In the same workspace, I can move from brainstorming to research, architecture, writing, calculations, spreadsheets, prompts, operating procedures, and handoffs to Codex without rebuilding the context every time I change tools or enter a new phase.

That continuity is the part people underestimate.
Most ambitious personal projects don’t die because the idea was bad. They die because one person cannot simultaneously be the researcher, analyst, editor, project manager, technical translator, quality-control department, and production team. ChatGPT Work lets me distribute those roles without losing ownership of the project or reducing the original ambition to something more manageable.

It has changed my relationship with ideas. Things I once would have saved in a notes app and “gotten back to someday” can now become serious research projects, business systems, finished documents, and executable plans.

The biggest benefit isn’t that I can do the same work a little faster. It’s that I can attempt work that I previously wouldn’t have had the time, staff, expertise, or organizational bandwidth to attempt at all.
It feels less like using a chatbot and more like gaining an expandable intellectual and production team that can stay beside a project from the first ridiculous question to the final deliverable.

That is what I love about ChatGPT Work: it gives individual people far more agency over what they can learn, build, investigate, and bring into the world.

@jxnlco Also very nice to have it monitor the work in progress of other threads and once all of them are at a good stopping point It shuts the computer down for me. I also have it schedule to turn itself on for resets and start projects.

@jxnlco I just run a command center chat that runs my PC, codex integration and projects. Efficacy gets better each major update for sure. It's able to do more and do it better. I guide it specifically and carefully but if you aren't a goose it does a good job.

@Automager When it could just skip through things like chest events and have its own internal steps for dozens of different parts of the game. I'm sure there are some other ways to optimize this too but I also jumped into doing it for rimworld instead which was fascinating.

@Automager Couple things I did for doing this same experiment. You can have them look at the back end of the program to avoid the screenshot turns, you can have agents running a few parallel systems. I had one determining strategy one calculating and logging important changes to play

@Automager When I stopped doing the experiment cuz I just needed my usage for other things I was at the point of building custom mods that codecs could use to have better vision and decision trees without missing things like when to identify a potion how to collect card rewards

@Automager Another one finding and optimizing token use and turn time during play utilizing the game clock to track fight length and overall run time. You can set up a few other avenues of optimization but by the end it was getting to act two or three in about 30 minutes.
