Was privileged to hear from, and interview, @lyndagratton yesterday. What could be better than a job that = hearing from- and working with- the, smart, interesting people behind my fave books/Ted talks/podcasts. Next up: masterclasses with Ron Berger and Mary Myatt! #WE10conf
@dhlexpressuk a parcel travelling internationally (De to Fr, ordered from UK) says it has been delivered but no sign of it anywhere (or leaving Germany for that matter). None of your teams in any country say they can help us. Bounced between DHL divisions without any human help
Is AI already impacting the job market?
A new paper from me, @erikbryn, and @RuyuChen at @DigEconLab digs into data from ADP.
We find some of the ***first large-scale evidence of employment declines for entry-level workers in AI-exposed jobs.***
A thread on our paper:
@Andypolitics22@KemiBadenoch@Conservatives Cheers for the terrific job you did with your last generation in power (2010 to, um, 2024). Happy to wait more than 12 months before your lot get another turn though
It's the third anniversary of Depp v. Heard. Not here to relitigate it for my readers, who are smart folks and get that it was a farce.
But I'm looking back because, in retrospect, it predicted Trump's win.
An analysis.

My book, self-efficacy in action, comes out tomorrow! 🤩🤩 @JohnCattEd @teacherhead
Get your copy here! https://t.co/dYemZcGoJE
PS I've got two copies to give away! So, if you fancy a free copy, give this tweet a like and RT. I'll draw the name out the hat at 5pm tomorrow!
By now, I'm used to terrible customer service from tech companies - but I've never before had such awful service when I'm trying to GIVE them my money before. So congratulations @NOWHelpTeam, it's a first that support has been so bad I've actually not been able to sign up at all.
@GregHands I find it much easier to be able to pick the right line through a distinctive colour and name! I've lived near the overground for years and always found so many distinct lines being the same generic orange difficult - I can't imagine how confusing it was for visitors or tourists
@AlbaGuBrath1966 Because BBC tries to maintain impartiality via roughly balanced panel from political left and right. Of main parties, 3 (Lab, SNP, LD) are left wing, only 1 historically right (Tory). So non politicians by definition more right wing to redress balance. Not a conspiracy theory.
@coopuk the Holloway Road store consistently has a foul smell of rotting meat at the back of the store. I mean, for over a year. Can you find out what the heck it is and fix it? I have to hold my breath while I'm choosing my soup - it's not what you want at all
It’s so beneficial to have someone in a government role being open and communicating to the sector - so different compared to what usually happens (which is they get told to keep quiet)
Really interesting key themes emerging from the curriculum review

🚨Our new report by @Samfr reflects on school policy over the last two decades.
It sets out three major challenges facing the sector over the coming years ⬇️
The decimation of the UK's nightlife, and pub culture, is shocking. According to Bloomberg:
- Three-quarters of nightclubs shut since 2005
- Number of pubs down by a quarter since 2000
- 13,800 nighttime businesses shut in 2020-23
- 35% London's local music venues closed 2007-15
A friend of mine asked me why a minister like @LordPeterHendy was getting involved in an individual's employment. Seemed unusually petty to her. He took it as a personal insult that Gareth would call a station unsafe. Surprisingly immature from a minister of state!
There’s a not-so-distant future where you could pull out your phone and cast your vote. At least, that’s the future tech investor Bradley Tusk is trying to build.
