Very saddened to hear of the passing of Wilbur Wood. One of the few left-handed knuckleballers to ever play the game, I've had several of his baseball cards in my PC since I was a kid.

I love knuckleballers and wish there were more in MLB!

RIP Wilbur Wood, 84, once started both games of a doubleheader in 1973 vs. the Yankees. It wasn’t scheduled that way. When we were watching the warmups come in for the second game on the ticker at the Del Mar Book, and Wood came across the wire, we all assumed it was in error.
