If you’ve been a bit quiet on $PI lately and mostly just opening the app to check in, here’s a friendly catch up on what’s actually been happening.

Protocol 28 is now live on Mainnet. It’s one of those behind-the-scenes upgrades that doesn’t change how you mine, but it makes life easier for developers. They can update multiple smart contracts together and the network handles transaction data more smoothly. In simple terms, it’s getting the chain more ready for real apps.

They’re also hosting the first Pi Ecosystem Summit online from November 17–19. It’s focused on builders, new tools, app showcases, platform updates, and a new hackathon. The goal is to get more people creating things that Pioneers can actually use.

On the numbers side, the team is talking about 300+ Mainnet apps, 60 million+ engaged Pioneers, and over 18 million people who’ve finished full KYC. There’s also some early exploration around a stablecoin partnership (OUSD) that could help with payments and rewards down the line. Price is still hanging around the $0.08 area, so utility remains the big open question.

A lot of the recent work has been on the foundation so apps can actually grow. If you’ve mostly been watching the price, you might have missed that part. It’s not fireworks yet, but it’s the kind of quiet progress that has to happen before things can become more useful for everyone.
