I’m gonna be leaving the Governor question blank in November. In good conscience, I can’t vote for Xavier Becerra. He’ll become our de facto governor when the race gets certified — likely with artificial record support because of a Blue Wave election.
@YourFriendKevin@ohgoditsmatthew What strategy is there in electing Becerra? It makes Dems look bought, weak, centrist, and evil. Then again, perhaps it’s just showing the party’s inner demons.
@tedlieu You should be stripped of Democratic Party status, removed from your seat, and step out of your bid for re election. This is disgusting. Becerra is a corporate AIPAC Dem and you, as we have all known, are no different.
@ApolloFNC@ElliscbIV She, at least, wouldn’t open more drilling like Becerra will. Becerra was always my least favorite of the notable Dems running. Worst case scenario imo.
@shoutthetruth2@bbbccc94@VoteHub What are his accomplishments? He passed 1 bill in 24 years. Then led a disaster as CA AG (23-5 vs Trump admin) and HHS secretary (failed us in responding to COVID).
@MappingFL Coulda been winnable if we got repub lockout on Governor and down voter turnout for Republican. Likely won’t happen though so it ends up being fine.
@Arjunssidhu@VoteHub I wonder what role Katie Porter running to the bitter end plays there. That is her home turf and she would have similar voters to Steyer.
@indigenoustgirl@VoteHub Yeah, but he needs to stop hemorrhaging in other counties. Orange needs to pull way closer in final drops and he has to pull more votes away from Becerra to place second. I’m at a 1/4 or 1/3 chance he makes it in my (unprofessional) opinion.
@Arjunssidhu@VoteHub More likely the voters in LA county outside of LA went hard for Becerra. Latino voters appear to have preferred identity over policy.
@GottheimerHater@Ericrse37986 His freezing the rate plan is not just dumb, but it’s also literally illegal. He doesn’t have the power to do that as Governor.
