The bottleneck for oversight is the accessibility and transfer speed of information.
When reporters’ FOIAs take months/years and take thousands of dollars to process --- oversight suffers
When I have to ask a question in committee about how a program works because there is no published information on it and they hit me with the “we’ll have to get back to you” and then never do --- oversight suffers.
If AI can't answer our questions, we haven't put enough information online yet.
it's just a soccer game, you might say. but that's exactly why this strikes me as so insane. there are zero stakes, the easiest "I care about america" in the world, and they still can't support our country. in fact, they seem to see any demonstration of support as a liability.
I would be more okay with this if I didn’t see what she did to CMU. At one point, because of her appointments, a majority of CMUs board members had no tie to the university whatsoever and lived over 2.5 hours away.
She even made a WMU grad the board chair.
Jay Jones’ legal filings: “That’s actually a great idea. A SCOTUS appeal is just the right balance of unorthodox and bold. Why it works— takes the Supreme Court by surprise because this is a matter over which they have no jurisdiction, but that’s the magic of this idea. Because what the Supreme Court of Virginia did was object to Democrats not following the law. And that’s not just a ruling, that’s being ruled over.”
Michigan’s SOS ballot:
-Current county clerk and former legislator (@tonyforlini1)
-Current Lt Gov and never won an election on his own name, never oversaw an election, demanded a recount when he lost his race for county clerk, still lost, & doesn’t want the job (@garlin)
lol
So while these are the usual dregs, they exist in a larger permission structure of (fake) Genteel Progressivism that feels increasingly emboldened because they’re never asked direct questions about whether this is acceptable or desirable behavior.
NEW: Football recruits are figuring out how to use AI to fabricate FAKE highlight plays.
All these plays were generated by artificial intelligence.
This will completely SHAKE up the football world 🤯
