@ColinDMello We need to stop blaming family doctors. Family docs continue to show up for Ontarians but it’s clear the healthcare crisis affects the whole system, incl family medicine. The issues driving the current crisis are complex. Family docs need more supports, not blame
@ColinDMello Family docs are going above+beyond to help. On top of regular clinics, many are adding hours in evenings/wkend, staffing provincial COVID assessment centres, doing ED shifts. All hands are on deck. 1.8M Ontarians don't even have a family doctor and this contributes to ED visits
For all of you writing such nice things, don’t worry about it. Not my first and won’t be my last.
But 2 thoughts:
On this November 11, worth noting that Canada’s war with Nazis isn’t over, and some of the calls come from inside the house.
@AnitaAnandMP
Ministry of Education (who is also responsible for Child Care) sent a memo out last week directing centres to deny school age children space during the school day.
Because it is all about the kids, right?
Lecce gives not a fig about kids or families or clearly anyone’s rights
The amazing @DrSamiraJeimy and I collaborated on a post because we are both tired of seeing the term ‘immunity debt’ being thrown around.
We also get into why we are seeing a record number of pediatric hospitalizations, so stick with us.

Does anyone get the feeling that Lecce just assumes he will get whatever he wants?
He has officially spent more time on trying to strip workers rights. & silence worker voice than he ever did on negotiations.
@Sflecce get off the media & come talk to the workers
NEW: Premier Doug Ford is set to loosen his Greenbelt promise.
The government wants to remove land from the Greenbelt to make room for 50,000 new homes -- new lands would be added elsewhere.

@BramptonGraham Wow. That’s a spin. How about: NDP MPP supports their constituents and cares about the ability of education workers to support their families.
You seem awfully high and mighty in your glass house Mr. McGregor.
While you were busy worrying about your Charter Rights, Ford snuck through a further distribution of protected GreenBelt to his development buddies.
Unreal.

@Sflecce Every tool would be… bargaining in good faith and supporting educational workers so they can get back into the classrooms (where they want to be!)!
It makes no sense to say education workers are too important to allow them to strike, but not valuable enough to pay a living wage. The hypocrisy is a policy choice.
