@SamanthaSLK1 I used to use WordPress, but the free templates were all overkill for me and many made the website load really slowly. I moved to https://t.co/9EyeGJeSDB a few years ago and really love it! Super simple and loads lightning fast.
@KenyaPower_Care We are experiencing a power outage since yesterday afternoon in Kileleshwa, Siaya Road. Reference number 6738274. Can you please give the latest status update and if someone is working on it? Thank you.
Every time I get discouraged that I haven’t published a book yet, I tell myself that I can still become the inspiration for future writers who fear they are getting too old to become an author.
@RyanWalraven Exactly! November 30 isn’t a cutoff point to completely finish. I think a lot of people put too much weight on the 50k and end up doing less because of a few off days.
If you’re participating in #NaNoWriMo and feel like you’re already too far behind and won’t be able to catch up, don’t let that stop you from writing! Every extra word helps you improve. Focus on a daily word goal instead of the monthly goal, even if it’s only 100 words.
@ColorTheBooks Gave myself a good push these past few days and am trying not to feel too comfortable at ~10k right now. Hoping to keep this momentum going as long as possible!
@m_m_chouinard 🙋🏻♂️ Usually it’s “When she [does something technical I need to research later that will make everything make sense], it all clicked into place.”
#NaNoWriMo pantsers, I need your advice. What do you do when you get to a point where you have no idea where the story should go next? Do you just write randomly until it clicks? Skip to a different scene and worry about bridging them later?
@Born_With_Power Thanks for the reply! I’ll try to do the same. I really feel like I need to force myself to get on Twitter and think of something that’s worth sharing. Was that also the case for you at first? Does it feel more natural after a while?
Cambodia is making #NaNoWriMo2018 a little too easy today. Warm, overcast day, bustling city noise, and $0.75 beers to help me pump out the word count without overthinking. What’s helping you get through your #NaNoWriMo?
@laquiglette Depends on the scene and mood, but lately I’ve been really into Japanese rock and City Pop! More energy than instrumental music, plus I can’t understand the lyrics, so they don’t distract me! Otherwise I’m a total sucker for ragtime and feeling like I’m writing in a saloon. 😃
@Born_With_Power I’ve tried engaging with Twitter a few times in the past but can’t seem to ever get into it. Is there a certain keyword you used to find and communicate with other writers? Did you simply respond to many of them to enter into the community?
@Samantha_Eaton3 I love that Kindles sync with the Amazon app! So convenient for when I’m waiting somewhere and don’t have it with me. Changing my social media checking habit to a read a book habit has seriously improved my well-being.
@laquiglette Ugh, I feel you on that. Something ironic about people using technology to bash technology... As someone that moves around a lot and needs my entire life to fit in 50 pounds or less, my Kindle is one of my most treasured possessions.
@carlywatters I was always curious how quickly an agent could tell if a query is a NaNoWriMo book. Does the number of unsolicited submissions skyrocket so much in December that even polished drafts risk being seen as a NaNo draft? I’d imagine any ~50k submission would be a hard pass. 😅
