@lilastories Yeah, I definitely feel that. For me, after making so little money for so many years in academia, it's almost painful to actually buy stuff. One dude from our program makes mid six-figures now and still drives beater trucks and barely has any furniture.
Proud to announce that my story "Corrupted Data" is featured in the collected anthology, "Peeling Back the Skin"! I was surprised because, for this particular story, it really came down to the wire with getting revisions in on time to submit for the contest.
That is a wrap for our week-long prompted competition! We will be busy judging the stories and coming up with our winners. Thank you so much to everyone who has submitted to us, and good luck to everyone. Winners will be announced in the new year.

NASA is launching back to the moon, including astronauts Reid Wiseman (Commander), Victor Glover (Pilot), Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen and Christina Hammock Koch (Mission Specialist) who is set to become the first woman to orbit the Moon. An exciting day!
We're going around the Moon. Come watch with us. Artemis II's four-astronaut crew is lifting off from @NASAKennedy on an approximately 10-day mission that will bring us closer to living on the Moon and Mars. The launch window opens at 6:24pm ET (2224 UTC). https://t.co/X27QJejNDt
So stoked to finally have a home for my story, One Last Espresso Before the Apocalypse after years of searching. And the whole issue looks great! Cheers to the editors!
Check out the latest issue of Suburban Witchcraft Magazine, featuring my story "One Last Espresso Before the Apocalypse," which probably went through 13 iterations of edits and re-writes before it found a home.
Congrats to the authors and artists - the mag looks great!
Reading Station Eleven feels like taking a fictional trip back in time to 2020 and then veering off in an entirely different direction. Really interesting and fun read, and highly recommended! #books#amreading
A new story of mine, "The Aurora Hum," has just been published with @AltRealityMag ! It's inspired in part by this low frequency vibration that used to haunt me when I lived in Japan for a few years.
Our insurance was unexpectedly cut by DCHealthLink due to a bug and we're in a health crisis - with my wife is in pain every night. Is anyone @DCHealthLink able to help? We are eligible & employed but your website is throwing an error, and we can't get an MRI without insurance.
Delighted to say I have a new poem out today in the wonderful Hobo Camp Review
