“I cast him because I wanted to nod towards the idea that this story has been handed down as oral poetry, which is analogous to rap.”

Billy Corgan has issued an apology after previously suggesting the CIA damaged rock music. In a new statement, he walked back the claim and acknowledged he went too far.
Corgan said his earlier comments were made out of frustration and clarified that he doesn’t believe there was a coordinated effort by the agency. He added that he regrets how the remark was interpreted and the attention it created.
