@AntonHand@ShamusAran having said that like.. if food is bland and doesn't taste good, a fuck tonne of chilli or mustard is probably the easiest way to go from "eurgh" to "this is an enjoyable experience". but I like hotdogs so I want the flavour enhancer first
@AntonHand@ShamusAran I shouldn't really say boring because a good dijon will make you be like "holy shit!" but to me a mustard is like.. a novelty effect like chilli. it's there to give you a physical sensation to complement the taste, but the taste has to be there first to truly enjoy it
@ShamusAran@AntonHand mustard+ketchup is a goated combo but mustard alone is too boring compared to ketchup
I would take the chilli if it's not just sriracha but an actual proper chilli dog with a thick chilli con carne broth on top. otherwise ketchup
@swelteduniverse@RealGrizzled@FantasyGalaxies I was born 1991. people of the time despised the prequels. I know this because I never saw 4 5 6 until after I saw 1 2 3 and everyone always ragged on me like "those ones are shit", from primary school to secondary school to adults. I liked 1 and 2, I thought 3 4 5 6 are mid
sure but the OP was talking about being a median person, one would expect a median person wouldn't have to grind work all day then go home then grind cooking and if they're too tired and order food a few times a month they have no money left over
you would think someone on the median salary would be able to go to work lunches at a restaurant with reasonable regularity, go to the pub for a few pints and some pub grub once a week. hell you would expect STUDENTS to be able to do that and afford to go clubbing and get a 3am greasy kebab on a part time retail job
a 30 something on a median salary should be on their second home ready to start a family and financially stable, not having to count coins to afford pizza. the generation before were splashing on satellite tv and annual holidays and jags at the median income
if you buy for yourself that's £250 for food and toiletries. if you have takeout 6 times a month you could easily rack up another 150. which, okay is not optimal use of budget, but realistically people have to have some creature comforts in life, ordering one meal every 5 days is by no means decadent
@Harrington82545@malletin@interstatejuche I have a separate washer and dryer in my cellar, both connected to mains water, my parents have a utility room, and my previous home I had the washer and dryer in the downstairs bathroom (of 3) and that was in a little terrace. we have washing machines and tumble dryers lol
@biggsam62@tylerhmead she was doing that for shits and giggle though. we like to pronounce things as if they're vulgar latin and ancient greek sometimes. like spectacles/testicles as specta-cles and testi-clés and xylophones as zai-lo-pho-nees
@leptonhadron@peskycommie@tylerhmead merriam-webster misprinted it as aluminum and americans whipped open the book once they started to get cutlery and started phonetically pronouncing the misspelling until it stuck
@tylerhmead@ooobenblief how do you say russia and ukraine? rossiya and ookraieena or "rusheh" and "you-crane"
how about beijing, do you say bei-jing or do you say "bayzhing". how about paris, do you call it paris or "paree"
@Biebsus_@Labubu_Domacica@nazzobetweeting@KBababouie no I don't know what you mean, I literally can't tell the difference. the USA and Jamaica are the same thing, North America, just like the balkans and spain are the same thing
@mortalise I literally did, you didn't understand the response because of your poor education and have spent the entire thread coping. I have responded to all your individual points and you're still unable to point out a single reason why anything I posted didn't logically follow
"u.. told on..urse-", you are "telling on yourself", with your embarrassing phraseology, genuinely hard to have a conversation with someone making me cringe this much but I will power through. the entire american argument is not based on an actual logical argument. anyone with a brain can see how what I wrote completely logically follows, but it apparently boggles the american mind because you have a narrow highschool definition of conservation that no one else shares
"waaah this counter example wasn't in my textbook definition even though it is an entirely logically consistent point. I don't care that your nation has demonstrated careful maintenance of resources, nature and manmade structures for thousands of years, because that is not the definition of conservation I was taught in class this is reflective of your poor education, not mine". I had 5 separate dumb septics parroting this idiocy
not a single person outside your country gives two shits about your corruption of the english language, my use of the word conservation was entirely correct, my argument entirely followed, and your continued cope is still debunked by the reality that your curriculum-taught definition (that no one else cares about) is irrelevant because we still DO all the things you're talking about, as well as more things beyond the scope of whatever your schoolteacher taught you in class. how about employ some basic reading comprehension and you won't be mindfucked by simple "A>B and A, therefore B is implied" logic instead of whining about semantics that literally counter every dictionary definition of the word
right, and? you don't think that countries that are 1000x smaller than yours don't manage their resources? you don't think we invented quadruple crop rotation to conserve the farmland, or replanting to conserve forests, or rationing oil and coal reserves?
you have been brainwashed by jingoism, you think normal ass resource management that people have been doing since mesopotamia is some magical american invention. your country is not even particularly good at conservation, you have forest fires regularly go out of control, massive offshore oil spills, the dust bowl, overdamming, acid damming and chemical contamination, state grids going down from poor energy management, hunted bison to near extermination, and build over manmade sites that would be historically protected in europe, you literally cannot talk on this topic just because you happen to have a lot of land that you draw a line around and call it a nature reserve. if you were the size of britain you would've run the ecology into the ground
