@Kish_P14 The U.S. doesn’t lack athletes. It lacked a soccer culture and pathway that made football the obvious dream for its best kids early enough. For decades, top talent saw LeBron, Brady and Jeter—not Madrid, London or the World Cup—as the dream.

@ramit Hey Ramit, my wife and I are in Kyoto right now. Any recommendations?

[Alexander Nelson @AlexTNelson]

@fchollet Are you also releasing an Audible version? Will say this has been one of the best resources published, thanks so much for writing it!

I like this lineup a lot because of what’s available on the bench too. Bringing in Richarlison and Johnson in the 65-70 minute range and moving Kulu to the Maddison spot is dynamic or just bringing on Werner + Johnson offers a whole other attacking style

[simon yemane @simonyemane]

Son, Solanke, Kulusevski.

That’s probably our front three on Monday.

Yes, It’s not perfect, but it’s still a strong one.

Top 3 in the Premier League, I’d say.

Only City and Liverpool clears it imo.

Am I wrong?

[Alexander Nelson @AlexTNelson]

@TottenhamTiers 7.5/10; the team is on the right track and over performed expectations. A cup run or CL qualification would’ve pushed it over 8. Excited for next season!

Super interesting post pointing out some great tools/frameworks for handling complex AI systems

[Matei Zaharia @matei_zaharia]

Interesting trend in AI: the best results are increasingly obtained by compound systems, not monolithic models.

AlphaCode, ChatGPT+, Gemini are examples.

In this post, we discuss why this is and emerging research on designing & optimizing such systems.

Given all of the generative AI breakthroughs (and hype), this is really good advice

[vicki @vboykis]

@eugeneyan All the underlying fundamentals are all the same, so more like, it’s a risk to only learn stuff at a high level. For example, Hadoop and Spark are both built on hash aggregates. Embeddings are linear algebra, one-layer neural nets are regression etc etc

The AI lab DeepMind, which is owned by Alphabet, has released predictions for the shapes of nearly every protein known to science. Now, it has added more than 200 million predictions to an online database freely available to scientists across the globe. https://t.co/NWb6PFd0Fl

After this season, I thought Son would finally be properly rated but I guess he's still underrated which is shocking, to say the least.

Huge for Tottenham. Club statement announce “capital increase of up to £150m. The equity injection provides Spurs with greater financial flexibility and the ability to further invest on and off the pitch”. ⚪️🤝 #THFC

That’s gonna be key move for Antonio Conte’s future too.
