It turns out I've won tickets to watch the F1 at Silverstone on 3rd July as part of my One Royal subscription!!
Thank you @joe_jacobson for the call, too. It certainly wasn't how I was expecting my Friday afternoon to play out.
Absolutely over the moon! ππ

Gutting, I think Derrick was our best Defender last year.
Having said that, this should allow much more game time for Ward in his natural position, who I was impressed with before his injury #readingfc
Thank you Derrick! π
Derrick Williams has called time on his career and confirms his retirement from professional football.
Everyone at Reading would like to thank Derrick for his efforts in the blue and white, and he will sorely be missed.
@RFCLatest@The92Bible Some tough teams in there who will (or should) have similar aims for the season to us. Will be nice to tick off a few more new grounds, too!
@Houlton11 We really need Lincoln to go up tomorrow, otherwise we're in for a very tough game on Monday (as if it wouldn't be anyway).
Tomorrow's match vs Huddersfield could define both team's season!
@Houlton11 Donny is my final one to tick off βΊοΈ IF we stay down, I'd be interested to see if Bromley/Notts Co. can get promoted. Leicester and Oxford going down would also tick a couple more off my list!
@dingarchive What a throwback. The highs of his brace against Birmingham in 2008, to the lows of him losing his head vs Burnley in the Play-Off Semis in 2009.
@ElmParkRoyals Very happy, we've filled some of the more worrying gaps within the team ('Target Man', fullback, etc.) I'm also impressed that a lot of these perm. signings have big sell-on potential if a 'bigger' club comes sniffing around.
@Teapotstagram From my perspective, we were likely still rebuilding from the Dai era in the summer. The money simply may not have been there. Rob & co. have been clear that they've been looking for more revenue streams, so maybe we're now in a more stable financial position to spend on players?
@FinSouthKlein Most L1 teams this year seem to adopt:
1. Pass between your GK and CBs for about a minute, with your FBs occasionally touching the ball.
2. Put yourself under too much pressure that you lump it forward.
3. Hope you win a flick-on.
4. Rinse and repeat.
So poor to watch at times
I'm really impressed with the business we've done this window. The two permanent signings seem promising, and the loans have added experience and hopefully quality for the short term. Hats of to the owners and the backroom staff! #ReadingFC
@TalkReading A signing which reminds me of 'The Reading Way' of about 15-20 years ago.
Lots of healthy competition in that area of the pitch now, which can only be a good thing!
