@WeStudentNurse My grandad was a nursing tutor, my dad was a mental health nurse and my gran was a general nurse! I’m training to be a mental health nurse!
@StNurseLee @WeStudentNurse@WeNurses@Stirling_Nurse@WeDistrictNurse It was great to listen to what you had to say in the lecture yesterday! I’ve grown up with an autistic brother and it was just great to hear what your life is like from your perspective!
@WeStudentNurse@nmcnews My previous placement mentor wasn’t very hands on but that was his style. He taught and guided for the first two weeks and then he watched from a far and asked the other staff their opinions about me meanwhile he helped the other students on placement. I found I learnt a lot more
Being a first year nurse, it’s so nice to see third years that are willing to help us out! Had a third year that spoke down and was horrid to first years all the time!
Helping a first year student nurse on her first day at placement with no previous ward experience reminded me so much of myself 2 years ago. I tend to judge myself pretty hard but it was nice to reflect and realise how much my confidence and knowledge has grown since then ✌🏼
Just finished my second placement. I absolutely loved the ward and the staff. Passed without a hitch! Would love to work there when I graduate! #weSTNs
@StNurseProject Coming to the end of first year, I’d tell myself that it’s okay not to know things. Mentors are a great source to help and not to be afraid of!
@chelseamurray10 I’m glad I’m not the only one. I’m jut half way through second placement. Told my mentor I’m not cut out for this and he just looked at me and I started crying 🤦🏻♀️ slightly embarrassed
This guy, my little brother self injured due to anxieties that he faces in his life. He is autistic and affected by Asperger syndrome. His beautiful face is mishapen but he is still and will always be my favourite human. #autism#aspergers
To the man who sidled up to 2 school girls on the Victoria line this morning and reached out to grope them. I'm the one who saw you and moved them out of the way. I'm the mother of one of them for real and the mother of every single girl on the tube while I'm on it.
How do student nurses deal with the mental strain of placement? I love my current placement but I’m always so tired. Any advice? @StNurseProject #WeStNs
@bryonylouise17 @StNurseProject I’m a first year student and my friends and I always talk about the fact that we are always tired but we don’t mind because we know our end goal!
