We began our strikes at midnight.
Although the majority chose to strike, they still responded to our most life threatening calls.
Some chose not to strike, some aren’t in a union & can’t strike.
Please don’t let right wing media let you believe we do nothing. We do care 💚
@Monsieurtogo@deelomas Trust me frontline have not lost our caring ethos an elderly person who has waited hours and hours for an ambulance in pain on the floor is the most horrific heartbreaking job we attend, the guilt is sometimes overwhelming I’m not alone feeling that way the system is broken
To all the nurses out there just wanted you to no I am 100% behind you with the strikes! Good luck out there and keep fighting we’re in this together! 💪
@MJA9622 Every individual who is patient facing should be able to provide basic personal care IMO, if that is all a student is doing on placement then that is not right but all HCPs should be able to provide basic care.
@Backpainandwine I have children don’t often take them to pubs unless it’s for food, wouldn’t ever be offended if we came across a child free pub or an over 18s only pub. People get offended so easily these days.
@RussPhi61318563@wanipuk @abbdesmond Sorry you had a bad experience unfortunately their is good and bad everywhere you go I hope you don’t think this is a reflection on all of us, most of us do the job because we care and will do everything we physically can to help.
@SilverFrill@McdeeSuzanne You’re right to an extent but it’s not the government who pays them it’s greedy private firms, technically the government gave a 6.6% pay rise to them by increasing the minimum wage. However social care staff should 100% be on more than min wage
@benjaminbutter Really hope one day no one will care and coming out will be a thing of the past because people will be free to love and be whoever they choose. Unfortunately I think we are way off of that as a society, I just hope my kids no our house will always be a safe space for them.
