Frontline is amazing as art on Bitcoin in many ways. Now, a week after mint, there's an amazing thing about the collector base. The floor 50 listings for Frontline have almost zero listings from the @OnChainMonkey community, and OCM minted the most Frontline!
OCM is a community of diamond-handed collectors!🔥
For artists thinking of launching their art on Bitcoin, read on!👇
Alexis André (@MacTuitui) launched his first art on Bitcoin, a 10k gen art collection. Besides PFPs and runes related launches, no one has tried to do such a large and ambitious art launch in months.
There are many reasons for this. The main one being that there actually aren't that many art collectors in Ordinals yet. Ordinals, as an early crypto market, is a largely traders market. However, an artist wants to see his works appreciated and held by collectors, not traded like a hot potato on marketplaces.
The art market on Ethereum took years to build up, and artists finally feel relatively comfortable launching their art to the community there. Established artists do not want to go through that painful process again on Bitcoin. And it is painful now, because few collectors are here.
Alexis is a highly successful artist, and he took the big leap to launch an Ordinal collection, and not just a few pieces, but the ambitious long-form 10k generative art collection, Frontline. He was convinced to do this because he knew that the OCM community are on-chain art lovers and collectors, and had values that he respected.
OCM holders appreciate art, and collect it on Bitcoin. If you're an artist, you might want to join the OCM community and meet the fellow collectors and artists in the community. And we would like to meet you, and learn about your work! 🔥
Just rendered 10,000 of @MacTuitui's Frontlines on Mac M1 Max. All 10 CPU and 32 GPU cores ran at 100% for 6+ hours. 🔥🖥️
This was only at 460px in batches of 30. Imagine high-res - we're talking weeks of rendering and potential laptop meltdown! Any takers for that challenge?
🔍 Exploring Frontline
Colors shifting, black spaces, two sides fighting to occupy the canvas—so much is happening at the Frontline ⚔️
Dive deeper into the features with the artist himself, Alexis André (@MacTuitui)! Full recording 👇
Just picked up this Frontline off of secondary. The palette is Purple Burn, the last of the palettes and one of the rare new palettes, in addition to the 19 from OCM Genesis.🔥
(Note, you can press the 'M' key for controls, and +/- to adjust resolution.)
What may not be obvious is all the work that goes into launching art like Frontline. We are getting the final touches in and expect to see it revealed on Bitcoin tomorrow (Monday) afternoon Pacific time! 🔥
Frontline is 85% minted out! 🔥
Who said Ordinals are dead? Long live art on Bitcoin!
If you haven't minted yet, be sure to check your allowlist on Osura to see if you can mint! 👇
